MASSIVE MILLENNIUM was withdrawn on 9.6.17 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (coughing) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter HORSE SUPREMO (H W Lai). Before being allowed to race again, MASSIVE MILLENNIUM will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A STAR LUSTER began only fairly. SPRING WIN blundered at the start. After this, SPRING WIN was ridden along, however, failed to muster speed. STARTLING POWER shifted out at the start, hampering CORRE RAPIDO. Passing the 1100 Metres, A STAR LUSTER, which was travelling keenly, got its head up when awkwardly placed behind SMART BOY. Making the first turn near the 700 Metres, RESPECT raced tight inside HORSE SUPREMO which shifted in away from SILVER SPUN. After initially being taken out by RESPECT after the 700 Metres, HORSE SUPREMO got its head on the side and lay out and consequently made the Home Turn awkwardly. Approaching the 500 Metres, STARTLING POWER raced tight between HORSE SUPREMO and GIDDY GIDDY which shifted out. Passing the 200 Metres, SILVER SPUN, which was giving ground, was momentarily steadied away from the heels of SILLY BUDDIES which improved into tight running inside ROCHFORD. Close to the finishing line, GIDDY GIDDY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of RESPECT which was taken out by ROCHFORD (T H So). T H So was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. For the majority of the race, STARTLING POWER travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of SPRING WIN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that HORSE SUPREMO was lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, HORSE SUPREMO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SMART BOY, SILLY BUDDIES and ROCHFORD were sent for sampling.
