AIMING HIGH was withdrawn on 10.6.17 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter FLYING NOBLE (K C Ng). Before being allowed to race again, AIMING HIGH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. LUNAR ZEPHYR began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped COLOURFUL ACHIEVER. COLOURFUL ACHIEVER was then crowded for room between LUNAR ZEPHYR which continued to shift in and OCEAN ELITE. LIGHTNING MISSILE began only fairly and shortly after the start was crowded for room between OCEAN ELITE and DAZZLE which shifted out. GOLDINGTON HORN was slow to begin and on jumping was bumped by BEAUT BEAUT which began awkwardly and shifted in. FLYING NOBLE lost its left front plate shortly after the start. TOURBILLON KING lost its right front plate at the 800 Metres and its left front plate near the 700 Metres. Passing the 800 Metres, LIGHTNING MISSILE raced tight between COLOURFUL ACHIEVER and DAZZLE which was awkwardly placed outside FLYING NOBLE. Passing the 400 Metres, ENJOY LIFE got its head on the side and hung out and in doing so inconvenienced FLYING NOBLE. After this, ENJOY LIFE continued to hang out under pressure. Near the 150 Metres, BEAUT BEAUT, which had been laying in under pressure, was shifted to the outside of LUNAR ZEPHYR. Then approaching the 50 Metres, BEAUT BEAUT shifted out away from TOURBILLON KING and when racing tight on the hindquarters of LUNAR ZEPHYR, became unbalanced and blundered. OCEAN ELITE, which was following BEAUT BEAUT, was steadied as a consequence. A veterinary inspection of LUNAR ZEPHYR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. LUNAR ZEPHYR and ENCORE BOY were sent for sampling.
