ROUNDABOUT began awkwardly. Shortly after the start, OUTLAWED was steadied when crowded for room between TOP ACT which shifted in marginally after being bumped by GREEN ENERGY and BEAUTY KINGDOM which shifted out. HEHA BOY stumbled at the start. HEHA BOY was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Also from a wide barrier, MONGOLIAN KING was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover in the early stages. Shortly after the start, WUSHU CHAMPION was steadied to obtain cover. For some distance approaching and passing the 1200 Metres, CELESTIAL ARROW got its head up when travelling keenly. Then approaching the 1000 Metres, CELESTIAL ARROW got its head up and proved very difficult to settle when being restrained to obtain cover behind SUNNY WAY. For some distance after the 1100 Metres, SUNNY WAY proved very difficult to settle and got its head up when being checked away from the heels of ALL BEST FRIENDS. Near the 550 Metres, ALL BEST FRIENDS was steadied when disappointed for running between ROUNDABOUT and SUNNY WAY which was racing tight inside NONE OTHER. In this incident, ALL BEST FRIENDS and SUNNY WAY bumped, resulting in ALL BEST FRIENDS shifting in and inconveniencing LUCKY DOUBLE EIGHT. Approaching the 500 Metres, CELESTIAL ARROW raced tight between MONGOLIAN KING and OUTLAWED which shifted out to improve. Passing the 400 Metres, LUCKY DOUBLE EIGHT was shifted to the inside of TRAVEL FIRST to obtain clear running. Passing the 200 Metres, ALL BEST FRIENDS was awkwardly placed inside the heels of OUTLAWED which got its head on the side and shifted in away from MONGOLIAN KING which was also shifting ground. For the majority of the race, NONE OTHER travelled wide and without cover. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that ROUNDABOUT had blood at its right nostril. An endoscopic examination was conducted on ROUNDABOUT which confirmed the horse to be a bleeder. A veterinary inspection of WUSHU CHAMPION immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. BEAUTY KINGDOM and SUNNY WAY were sent for sampling.
