Steward Report Predict Pace Map
BLAZE STAMINA (C Y Ho) began only fairly, shifted out on jumping and bumped AMAZING, resulting in BLAZE STAMINA losing ground. After this, BLAZE STAMINA was hard ridden, however, failed to muster speed and raced at the tail of the field. After the race, C Y Ho stated that when required to race at the tail of the field, the horse did not appear to show any interest in the race and performed most disappointingly. A veterinary inspection of BLAZE STAMINA, immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. MOMENT OF POWER shifted out at the start and inconvenienced YOUNG EMPIRE. After being crossed by HEALTHY LUCK, MOST BEAUTIFUL commenced to prove very difficult to settle passing the 1100 Metres and had to be severely checked away from the heels of HEALTHY LUCK. MOST BEAUTIFUL then shifted out away from the heels of HEALTHY LUCK near the 1050 Metres, resulting in SUPER LEADER being hampered. HAPPY BAO BEI, which was following and had already got its head up on a number of occasions when proving difficult to settle, was checked away from the heels of SUPER LEADER in consequence and shifted out abruptly, resulting in HAPPY BAO BEI losing ground and YOUNG EMPIRE being hampered when taken wider. After this, MOST BEAUTIFUL continued to race fiercely and was awkwardly placed behind HAPPY COOPERATION for some distance between the 1000 Metres and the 800 Metres at which time the horse shifted out away from the heels of HAPPY COOPERATION and then raced wide and without cover. Passing the 300 Metres, AMAZING was shifted in away from the heels of HAPPY COOPERATION to obtain clear running. Apprentice H N Wong (YOUNG EMPIRE) dropped his whip approaching the 200 Metres. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of ARM RUNDA, O Doleuze stated that although he was able to obtain a good position passing the 800 Metres, he had to make a good deal of the use of the horse in the early stages to overcome the outside barrier. He said as ARM RUNDA had risen in the handicaps as a result of its consistency during the season, he believed that the horse was not able to close off the race because of the early use that he had to make of it. He said although ARM RUNDA did not finish off the race, he believed that were it to draw a more favourable barrier in the near future, it would be competitive. A veterinary inspection of ARM RUNDA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. When questioned, Apprentice H N Wong stated that with YOUNG EMPIRE being up in class and having drawn barrier 11, he was instructed to ride the horse patiently and endeavour to find cover behind midfield. He said however that YOUNG EMPIRE was caught wide for the majority of the race and consequently did not close off the race. A veterinary inspection of YOUNG EMPIRE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. HEALTHY LUCK, FANTASTIC FEELING and AMAZING were sent for sampling. <11/5/2017 Additional Veterinary Report>BLAZE STAMINA, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. BLAZE STAMINA was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer A S Cruz this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front and left hind legs. Before being allowed to race again, BLAZE STAMINA will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
