On jumping, GENERAL O’REILLY which began awkwardly and STRATHCLYDE were both checked when crowded for room between COMPASSION STAR and MASSIVE MOVE which shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider. This resulted in GENERAL O’REILLY and STRATHCLYDE losing a considerable amount of ground and MASSIVE MOVE becoming badly unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by GENERAL O’REILLY. After this, MASSIVE MOVE continued to lay out and near the 350 Metres was checked away from the heels of GOOD CHOI LEE when reluctant to shift to the inside of that horse to obtain clear running. GOOD CHOI LEE began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped SCARBOROUGH FAIR which became unbalanced, shifted in and bumped BEEKELY. SUPER JUNIOR and ELECTRIC LIGHTNING bumped at the start. BEST STEP began only fairly. Approaching the 500 Metres, BEST STEP raced tight outside KEEP MOVING. Passing the 400 Metres, STRATHCLYDE and PADDINGTON raced tight as STRATHCLYDE attempted to shift in to obtain clear running. This resulted in STRATHCLYDE being held up for clear running until passing the 300 Metres. Near the 250 Metres, BEST STEP became unbalanced when racing tight outside KEEP MOVING which was racing tight outside SUPER JUNIOR. Passing the 200 Metres, PADDINGTON was bumped by STRATHCLYDE which shifted in. Also passing the 200 Metres, ELECTRIC LIGHTNING was checked away from the heels of BEEKELY and shifted in, resulting in MASSIVE MOVE being inconvenienced. Near the 100 Metres, STRATHCLYDE became unbalanced after shifting in away from WILD BOY. Passing the 50 Metres, PADDINGTON shifted out and brushed the hindquarters of STRATHCLYDE. A veterinary inspection of STRATHCLYDE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. STRATHCLYDE, SUPER JUNIOR and KEEP MOVING were sent for sampling.
