After being loaded into the barriers, REGENCY HONEY became fractious, reared and got its left front leg into the adjoining stall. After some time REGENCY HONEY was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, REGENCY HONEY was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. As REGENCY HONEY was being removed from the barrier stalls, BELOVED lost its right hind plate which required the horse to be replated. After being replated, BELOVED was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed fit to start. These incidents resulted in a significant delay to the start of the race. Before being allowed to race again, REGENCY HONEY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BELOVED, which initially proved difficult to load on the first occasion, will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test before being allowed to race again. GOLDEN DEER began awkwardly. NOTED PERFORMER was slow to begin. BELOVED began only fairly, shifted out and brushed the hindquarters of AMBITIOUS HEART. Shortly after the start, HAPPY HAPPY STAR and ART OF SUCCESS bumped. After travelling a short distance, BOSSIEE was crowded for room between ART OF SUCCESS and RICHCITY FORTUNE which shifted in after being bumped by CAREFREE LET GO. Approaching the 800 Metres, AMBITIOUS HEART got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of FOREVER ACCURATE which shifted in. Passing the 350 Metres, GOLDEN DEER was shifted to the outside of PLANET STAR after being disappointed for running inside that horse. AMBITIOUS HEART was unable to obtain clear running passing the 300 Metres. Near the 150 Metres, FOREVER ACCURATE was momentarily crowded for room between CAREFREE LET GO and GOLDEN DEER which shifted out. Close to the finishing line, PLANET STAR got its head on the side and lay out. Throughout the race, CAREFREE LET GO travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. A veterinary inspection of CAREFREE LET GO, FOREVER ACCURATE and RICHCITY FORTUNE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. HAPPY HAPPY STAR and ART OF SUCCESS were sent for sampling.
