BRILLIANT DREAM began awkwardly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. GIANT STARS began only fairly. From a wide barrier, LUCKY DOUBLE EIGHT was steadied shortly after the start and shifted across behind runners. Making the turn near the 1050 Metres, HIGH FIVE lost ground after being crowded for room inside MOST BEAUTIFUL which got its head on the side and shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. Passing the 1050 Metres, ISAAC and GO BABY GO raced tight inside SO FAST when that horse was steadied to allow DIEGO KOSTA and I'M A WITNESS to cross. After this, SO FAST travelled wide and without cover. After being crossed by DIEGO KOSTA near the 1000 Metres, ISAAC proved very difficult to settle and got its head up for some distance when very awkwardly placed behind DIEGO KOSTA. In this incident, ISAAC shifted out away from the heels of DIEGO KOSTA and bumped GO BABY GO after the 1000 Metres. Passing the 900 Metres, THE SUPREME commenced to prove very difficult to settle and got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of HARRIER JET. At the 800 Metres, LUCKY DOUBLE EIGHT was bumped and taken wider by GIANT STARS which, when travelling keenly, shifted out away from the heels of THE SUPREME which continued to prove difficult to settle. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, HIGH FIVE and THE SUPREME raced tight. Shortly after entering the Straight, BRILLIANT DREAM shifted in abruptly after being checked away from the heels of THE SUPREME and consequently bumped heavily with the hindquarters of HIGH FIVE which became badly unbalanced. Approaching the 200 Metres, THE SUPREME was held up for a run behind GO BABY GO and passing the 200 Metres was shifted in to obtain clear running. A veterinary inspection of HIGH FIVE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. ISAAC, I'M A WITNESS and HARRIER JET were sent for sampling. <26/1/2017 Additional Veterinary Report>The Veterinary Officer reported that GO BABY GO was lame in its right front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, GO BABY GO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
