FRANCE VALOUR was slow to begin. ISLAND FLYER began awkwardly. GORGEOUS AGAIN and SWEET BEAN bumped on jumping. Shortly after the start, GARLIC YEAH got its head on the side and shifted in towards the hindquarters of ROCK THE TREE. MY FOLKS and HIGH SPEED METRO were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. Near the 1550 Metres, SWEET BEAN shifted in and bumped FRANCE VALOUR, causing both horses to become unbalanced. Passing the 1200 Metres, HIGH SPEED METRO momentarily raced in restricted room inside GARLIC YEAH. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, MY FOLKS was checked away from the heels of SWEET BEAN after getting its head on the side and shifting out away from GARLIC YEAH. HIGH SPEED METRO, which was following, got its head up when being checked away from the heels of MY FOLKS in consequence. Rounding the Home Turn, MALAYAN PEARL was steadied away from the heels of SAFARI MAGIC which was taken out by GORGEOUS AGAIN which got its head on the side and lay out. ROCK THE TREE had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight. Passing the 300 Metres, ISLAND FLYER shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of INNOVATIVE WINNER which became unbalanced. Near the 250 Metres, MY FOLKS was shifted to the outside of WIN CHANCE after being disappointed in running between that horse and FRANCE VALOUR. After this, MY FOLKS lay out under pressure. Throughout the race, FRANCE VALOUR travelled wide and without cover. After the winning post, O Doleuze dismounted from INNOVATIVE WINNER. INNOVATIVE WINNER was subsequently examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse had lost its left hind plate (approaching the 1400 Metres) with a resultant injury to the outside of the left hind foot. Before being allowed to race again, INNOVATIVE WINNER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of ROCK THE TREE and SAFARI MAGIC immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. ROCK THE TREE, GARLIC YEAH and HIGH SPEED METRO were sent for sampling.
