GAME OF FUN and BRAVE KNIGHT were crowded for room on jumping between RED HORSE which shifted in and FOREVER POSH which shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider. In this incident, FOREVER POSH shifted out further after being bumped on the hindquarters by GAME OF FUN and became unbalanced. After this, FOREVER POSH was ridden to go forward, however, failed to muster speed. From wide barriers, RED PEONY and GENTLEMEN were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. Making the first turn near the 900 Metres, WORLD RECORD, which was inclined to lay out, raced tight inside NOBLE DE LOVE. Approaching the 800 Metres, FOREVER POSH was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GO-GETTER. Shortly after entering the Straight, RED PEONY was shifted in away from the heels of GO-GETTER. BORN TO RACE had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight. Approaching the 250 Metres, SUPER SWEET ORANGE shifted out and bumped GAME OF FUN. In the Straight, NOBLE DE LOVE lay out and proved difficult to ride. Throughout the race, RED HORSE travelled wide and without cover. After the race, it was noted that BRAVE KNIGHT was making a respiratory noise. The Veterinary Officer reported that an endoscopic examination of BRAVE KNIGHT showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea and also found it to be a “roarer”. Before being allowed to race again, BRAVE KNIGHT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of VICTORY DUKE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious. AMAZING FEELING, WORLD RECORD and SUPER SWEET ORANGE were sent for sampling.
