At declaration time, S Clipperton was declared as the rider of both PABLOSKY and TONYBOY. It was established that S Clipperton had a firm commitment to ride PABLOSKY. As such, the Stewards permitted C Schofield to be substituted as the rider of TONYBOY. For this declaration error, Trainer T P Yung was fined $2,000. I’M IN CHARGE was withdrawn on 30.9.16 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter WHITE MAGIC (C Y Ho). Before being allowed to race again, I’M IN CHARGE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. From wide barriers, BACK IN BLACK and WHITE MAGIC were steadied and shifted across behind runners soon after the start. After passing the 400 Metres, CLEVER BEAVER attempted to shift out around the heels of BULLISH SMART to improve inside PABLOSKY, however, was prevented from doing so when PABLOSKY maintained its position. CLEVER BEAVER was then switched back to the inside, however, between the 200 Metres and the 50 Metres was badly held up behind MARVEL TRIBE and unable to improve before obtaining a narrow run to the inside of that horse over the concluding stages. Passing the 100 Metres, MIDNIGHT RATTLER (J Moreira) was shifted out to improve into tight running between PABLOSKY and HAMMER KING. As MIDNIGHT RATTLER established running to the outside of the heels of PABLOSKY, it was inclined to lay out and made contact with HAMMER KING which resulted in HAMMER KING racing tight between MIDNIGHT RATTLER and BACK IN BLACK and being steadied over the concluding stages. J Moreira was advised to ensure that he exercises due care in similar circumstances. Also over the concluding stages, J Moreira was unable to fully test MIDNIGHT RATTLER as he endeavoured to relieve the tightening to HAMMER KING when also racing close to the heels of NEW ASIA SUNRISE. DUKEDOM was inclined to lay in under pressure in the Straight. SMART DECLARATION travelled wide and without cover throughout the race and in the Straight gave ground. A veterinary inspection of TONYBOY and MARVEL TRIBE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. MARVEL TRIBE, NEW ASIA SUNRISE and PABLOSKY were sent for sampling. <3/10/2016 Additional Veterinary Report>MARVEL TRIBE, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. MARVEL TRIBE was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer K W Lui yesterday morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, MARVEL TRIBE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
