Steward Report Predict Pace Map
LITTLE ISLAND began awkwardly and lost ground. INVENTOR and RICKFIELD bumped at the start. From wide barriers, SHARP SAILOR, RAZOR QUEST, INDUSTRIALIST WAY and CHATER LEGEND were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages. RICKFIELD travelled wide and without cover until approaching the 800 Metres. After the 800 Metres, RED MARVEL was left racing wide and without cover. After the 500 Metres, RICKFIELD gave ground abruptly. A veterinary inspection of RICKFIELD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of RICKFIELD, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, RICKFIELD will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Close to the finishing line, SHARP SAILOR was steadied away from the heels of CLASSIC EMPEROR. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of BEAUTY KINGDOM, Z Purton stated that after beginning well, BEAUTY KINGDOM commenced to travel keenly passing the winning post on the first occasion and was awkwardly placed behind CLASSIC EMPEROR. He said when this happened BEAUTY KINGDOM was also inclined to lay out away from the heels of CLASSIC EMPEROR. He said after this BEAUTY KINGDOM travelled well and he was able to work into the race well rounding the Home Turn. He added however that in the early part of the Straight, despite being ridden along, BEAUTY KINGDOM came under pressure and was then inclined to shift ground when weakening over the latter stages of the race. Z Purton stated that, in his opinion, the horse is better suited to races over a shorter distance than that of tonight's race and he recommended accordingly to connections. A veterinary inspection of BEAUTY KINGDOM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of RED MARVEL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. BEAUTY KINGDOM, INVENTOR and CHATER LEGEND were sent for sampling.
