CELESTIAL SMILE was withdrawn on 16.5.14 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (inappetence) and was replaced by first Standby Declared Starter DOUBLE DRAGON (J Moreira). BEAUTY AHEAD, second Standby Declared Starter, was also withdrawn on 16.5.14 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore). Before being allowed to race again, CELESTIAL SMILE and BEAUTY AHEAD will both be subjected to an official veterinary examination. TOP ACT and DO YOU GET IT bumped at the start and a short distance later DO YOU GET IT raced in restricted room between TOP ACT and KYNAM which shifted in. Shortly after the start, MEGA CHAMPION shifted out and bumped TELECOM TOP STAR. Also shortly after the start, JUN JU, which began awkwardly, momentarily raced in restricted room between BRIGHT STAR and DOUBLE DRAGON. From the outside barrier, MISTER MARC was taken across behind runners in the early stages. After the 1100 Metres, TOP ACT raced awkwardly inside the heels of DO YOU GET IT. Making the turn after the 900 Metres, SECRET AGENT got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of BRIGHT STAR. Near the 700 Metres, JOLLY POSH was left racing wide and without cover. Rounding the Home Turn, TOP ACT was awkwardly placed inside the heels of DO YOU GET IT which got its head on the side and lay in. AMAZING ALWAYS was badly held up for clear running until near the 300 Metres and passing the 200 Metres was shifted out away from the heels of DOUBLE DRAGON which was giving ground. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of DO YOU GET IT, D Whyte stated that after initially being reluctant to load into the barriers, DO YOU GET IT had to be vigorously ridden along in the early stages to overcome a tardy start and obtain a forward position. He said after the 1300 Metres DO YOU GET IT commenced to travel satisfactorily and he was able to take up a trailing position behind the leader LUCKY SCEPTER. He said after the 600 Metres he rode DO YOU GET IT along with a view to shifting to the outside of DOUBLE DRAGON into clear running, however, DO YOU GET IT proved reluctant to shift out and immediately came under pressure. He added in the Straight the horse 's action felt “uncoordinated” and it then gave ground alarmingly. He said after the race the horse appeared to him to be distressed. Mr J Size, the trainer of DO YOU GET IT, stated that the horse had pleased him in the lead up to today 's race following its last start success. He said DO YOU GET IT became stirred up when being saddled and was subsequently reluctant to be loaded into the barriers. He said although the horse was more agitated today than it was at its last start, it was nonetheless disappointing as he expected the horse to race well. A veterinary inspection of DO YOU GET IT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of DO YOU GET IT was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, DO YOU GET IT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that TELECOM TOP STAR was lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, TELECOM TOP STAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of KYNAM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. DO YOU GET IT, MEGA CHAMPION and TOP ACT were sent for sampling.
