RACING MATE was withdrawn on 15.4.14 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (left fore foot medial quarter crack). PHOTON WILLIE was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore). Before being allowed to race again, RACING MATE and PHOTON WILLIE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PEARL WIN blundered badly at the start and during the incident lost its left front plate. GETAWAY GUY and VICTORIUS bumped heavily at the start. After this VICTORIOUS was ridden along, however, failed to muster speed. Then approaching the 1000 Metres, VICTORIUS was steadied away from the heels of POLYMER WIN (Apprentice C Y Lui) which shifted in when not properly clear. Apprentice Lui was advised that in similar circumstances he would be expected to make more endeavour to prevent his mounts from shifting ground than he did on this occasion. WIN CHANCE began awkwardly. Shortly after the start, SUNNY FAY was steadied when crowded for room between NEW GLORY and POLYMER WIN. After this, SUNNY FAY was shifted across behind runners. Passing the 1000 Metres, GETAWAY GUY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of PEARL WIN. Passing the 800 Metres, VICTORIUS, which had been ridden along to maintain its position, became unbalanced when bumped by GETAWAY GUY which shifted out when racing keenly. MR GINGER lost its left front plate after the winning post. PEARL WIN, MR GINGER and GETAWAY GUY were sent for sampling.
