ARCHIPPUS shifted out at the start and bumped GREAT SKY. After this, both ARCHIPPUS and GREAT SKY were taken across behind runners. WHY NOT and WONDERFUL MOMENTS bumped at the start. GOOD CHOICE began awkwardly. EXPEDITE began awkwardly, shifted in at the start and bumped JAEGER BOMB. Approaching and passing the 1400 Metres, EXPEDITE got its head on the side and hung in. Making the first turn near the 900 Metres, ARCHIPPUS became unbalanced when racing tight between GIGGLES FOREVER and WHY NOT. Near the 550 Metres, ARCHIPPUS (Z Purton) was shifted away from the heels of JAEGER BOMB after being awkwardly placed behind that horse for some distance. ARCHIPPUS then had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight. Z Purton said that his mount felt distressed after the race and became badly unbalanced when being eased down. A veterinary inspection of ARCHIPPUS immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, ARCHIPPUS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Approaching the 100 Metres, JAEGER BOMB was taken wider by WHY NOT which shifted out. Near the 100 Metres, WINNING APEX was shifted out away from the heels of AGIAAL. Throughout the race, NOBLE DE BEST travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of GIGGLES FOREVER immediately following the race revealed the horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, GIGGLES FOREVER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. ARCHIPPUS, WHY NOT and WONDERFUL MOMENTS were sent for sampling.
