ONGOING VOLATILITY, GERONIMO MEADOW and LET’S GOAL were slow to begin. GENUINE LEADER was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Passing the 1300 Metres, LET’S GOAL momentarily raced tight inside PACKING LLAREGYB and was steadied away from the heels of GERONIMO MEADOW passing the 800 Metres. In the middle stages, ONGOING VOLATILITY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of HELLA HEDGE. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on GENUINE LEADER at the request of Trainer A T Millard. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, GENUINE LEADER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PRINCIPAL, GERONIMO MEADOW and GRIMMY were sent for sampling.
