HOME WITH GLORY was withdrawn on 20.1.14 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore fetlock) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter INVICTUS. Before being allowed to race again, HOME WITH GLORY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Just prior to the start being effected, ROYAL PARTNER became fractious and as the gates were released lifted its front feet off the ground and consequently was slow to begin. GO GO WIN was slow to begin. From wide barriers, KA YING KID and FIRST SIGHT LOVE were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Shortly after the start, D’OR WONGCHOY shifted out and bumped JAZZY FEELING. Passing the 1600 Metres, SUPERNINSKY was steadied away from the heels of MAJESTIC ANTHEM which shifted in. Passing the 1500 Metres, INVICTUS momentarily raced tight inside MAJESTIC ANTHEM. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, ROYAL PARTNER got its head up when being steadied after attempting to improve between GO GO WIN and JAZZY FEELING where there was insufficient room. Also approaching the winning post on the first occasion, ROYAL PARTNER lost its right front plate. Passing the 1300 Metres, INVICTUS was left racing wide and without cover and after the 1200 Metres was allowed to stride forward into the lead. Passing the 1100 Metres, KA YING KID was shifted out away from the heels of GO GO WIN which got its head up when being checked away from the heels of WHY NOT. Near the 600 Metres, GO GO WIN became unbalanced when awkwardly placed outside the heels of WHY NOT. Approaching and passing the 400 Metres, WHY NOT raced tight when obtaining a narrow run between the tiring D’OR WONGCHOY and FIRST SIGHT LOVE. When obtaining this run, WHY NOT and FIRST SIGHT LOVE bumped, causing both horses to become unbalanced and WHY NOT to be taken in onto D’OR WONGCHOY which was crowded for room. Near the 100 Metres, ELECTRONIC FORTUNE was steadied when crowded for room inside INVICTUS which, after being brushed by ENTHUSIASM, got its head on the side and shifted in away from that horse of its own accord. A veterinary inspection of D’OR WONGCHOY immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, D’OR WONGCHOY will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination A veterinary inspection of ELECTRONIC FORTUNE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. ROYAL PARTNER, ENTHUSIASM and JAZZY FEELING were sent for sampling.
