As the start was effected, CRIMSON HEART bounded in the air and from a wide barrier was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. THE UNTOUCHABLELAD, which was leaning against the outside of its stall as the start was effected, was ridden along in the early stages, however, failed to muster speed. Shortly after the start, MAGNANIMOUS was shifted away from the heels of FUN HEROES which was taken out by SPIRIT SOARING. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, SPEEDYGONZALEZ shifted in and bumped MAGNANIMOUS. Passing the 1200 Metres, LEELI’S STAR, which was proving difficult to settle, was steadied away from the heels of BETTER ANNOUNCE. LEELI’S STAR travelled keenly and continued to prove difficult to settle throughout the middle stages. Passing the 1100 Metres, MAGNANIMOUS raced tight inside SPEEDYGONZALEZ which shifted ground when awkwardly placed close to the heels of FLYING IBIS. DEMOKLES, which was following, got its head on the side when being checked away from the heels of SPEEDYGONZALEZ in consequence. After the 600 Metres, FLYING IBIS lay in and bumped FUN HEROES, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced. Shortly after entering the Straight, SPIRIT SOARING and HORSE APLENTY bumped. Approaching the 200 Metres, MAGNANIMOUS was shifted in away from the heels of LEELI’S STAR to obtain clear running. Throughout the race, GOLD PRECIOUS travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. A veterinary inspection of SPEEDYGONZALEZ immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. THE UNTOUCHABLELAD, HORSE APLENTY and FUN HEROES were sent for sampling.
