K Teetan (IDYLLIC WIND) was fined a sum of $2,000 for initially weighing out without a girth. BAMBOO DANCE was slow to begin. From the outside barrier, IDYLLIC WIND was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Shortly after the start, FORTUNE TERRITORY was bumped by NO TIES which was in turn taken in by CAPTAIN AMERICA. Passing the 1200 Metres, SPLENDID GUY was crowded for room inside FORTUNE TERRITORY which was steadied away from the heels of MAGICAL BEAM which shifted in. Passing the 500 Metres, MAGICAL BEAM shifted out and bumped DOUBLE MOON. Passing the 300 Metres, FORTUNE TERRITORY was severely checked when attempting a run where there was insufficient room between NO TIES and DOUBLE MOON which, when giving ground, shifted out marginally. Approaching the 200 Metres, BAMBOO DANCE and RED ADVENTURE bumped as BAMBOO DANCE shifted out to improve its position. For some distance after the 200 Metres, BAMBOO DANCE was awkwardly placed inside the heels of GORGEOUS LIFE which shifted in when giving ground. Passing the 150 Metres, N Callan (CAPTAIN AMERICA) dropped his left rein. Over the concluding stages, BAMBOO DANCE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GOLDWEAVER and because of this was not able to be ridden out all the way to the end of the race. In the Straight, NO TIES got its head on the side and lay in under pressure. A veterinary inspection of FORTUNE TERRITORY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. MAGICAL BEAM, TAI PO FORTUNE and GOLDWEAVER were sent for sampling.
