YO-YO DA began awkwardly. AH BO was slow to begin. Passing the 1000 Metres, GO SANDY GO shifted out when racing greenly and awkwardly placed close to the heels of FANTASTIC KAKA which shifted in when only just clear. Making the first turn approaching the 900 Metres, YO-YO DA shifted out and bumped EAGLE KING. At the same point, GRAND PLUS got its head on the side and shifted out towards the heels of KIM GLORY. Passing the 600 Metres, INVESTAR WIN lost ground when racing greenly and reluctant to maintain its position inside FAMILY INTERESTS. Both AH BO and GO SANDY GO lay out making the Home Turn. Near the 200 Metres, FAMILY INTERESTS was shifted in away from the heels of YO-YO DA. Throughout the race, LUCKY BONUS travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of FANTASTIC KAKA, G Mosse stated that the horse again became stirred up prior to today’s race albeit that it was more relaxed behind the barriers than it was last start. He said today despite being ridden along in the early stages, FANTASTIC KAKA did not show early speed. He said passing the 800 Metres FANTASTIC KAKA commenced to over-race and had to be checked away from the heels of LUCKY BONUS. He said although FANTASTIC KAKA was racing in a three wide position, it was able to retain cover for the majority of the race behind LUCKY BONUS. He added FANTASTIC KAKA came off the bridle prior to the 600 Metres and he had to ride the horse vigorously rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight to improve its position. He said however that FANTASTIC KAKA did not respond to his riding and stayed on only fairly. A veterinary inspection of FANTASTIC KAKA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on GRAND PLUS at the request of Trainer J Size. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood and mucus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, GRAND PLUS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FANTASTIC KAKA, AMBITIOUS KING and FIRE STARTER were sent for sampling
