LOVELY BOY was withdrawn on 24.9.13 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (foot sore both fore feet) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter BORNFREE (T H So). Before being allowed to race again, LOVELY BOY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BOLERO began awkwardly. GRACYTOM was crowded for room at the start between BORNFREE which shifted in and BRILLIANT PROPOSAL which, after initially shifting out, was then taken out by AMEDEO. At the 800 Metres, ONE MORE KNIGHT was checked away from the heels of MIGHTY EQUUS when being shifted across behind that horse. In the early part of the Straight, BRILLIANT PROPOSAL got its head on the side and lay in under pressure, obliging its rider, M Chadwick, to change his whip into his right hand. Passing the 100 Metres, BOLERO was shifted in away from the heels of CALL ME ACHIEVER to continue improving. Near the 50 Metres, BORNFREE, which was closing off the race, was shifted out away from the heels of AMEDEO. Then over the concluding stages, BORNFREE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ALL WIN BOY. Over the concluding stages, CALL ME ACHIEVER and MIGHTY EQUUS raced tight due to CALL ME ACHIEVER shifting out under pressure. Throughout the race, PHANMA travelled wide and without cover. MIGHTY EQUUS and CALL ME ACHIEVER were sent for sampling.
