Steward Report Predict Pace Map
On arrival at the barriers, the tongue tie fitted to GOLDEN LEGEND was replaced. GRATIFIED, which was fractious in the barriers, bounded in the air as the start was effected and landed awkwardly, resulting in its rider, C K Tong, becoming badly unbalanced and GRATIFIED losing a considerable amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, GRATIFIED will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. From a wide barrier, BEAR SUPREME was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. After being vigorously ridden along in the early stages, GORGEOUS LIFE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SPLENDID GUY (C Y Ho) which shifted in when barely clear passing the 1100 Metres. Then approaching the 1000 Metres, GORGEOUS LIFE, after continuing to be ridden along, was checked away from the heels of SPLENDID GUY. C Y Ho was reprimanded and advised that whilst there was some circumstances to this incident, nonetheless he has a duty to ensure that he is sufficiently clear prior to shifting ground in future. After the 900 Metres, INFINITE COURAGE got its head on the side and lay in, resulting in JUST GOOD momentarily racing in restricted room. Near the 850 Metres, GOLDEN LEGEND got its head on the side and hung out towards the heels of NIGHTLIGN. Making the first turn near the 850 Metres, SPLENDID GUY, which was over-racing, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of NIGHTLIGN (D Whyte) which shifted in when barely clear. D Whyte was reprimanded and advised that whilst SPLENDID GUY was proving difficult to settle at that time, nonetheless he has a responsibility to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future. Approaching the 800 Metres, INFINITE COURAGE commenced to prove very difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions when being checked away from the heels of BERNARD’S CHOICE. Then passing the 800 Metres, INFINITE COURAGE shifted out away from the heels of BERNARD’S CHOICE, taking TREASURE MAN wider. After this, TREASURE MAN raced wide and without cover. INFINITE COURAGE continued to prove difficult to settle and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of BERNARD’S CHOICE until after the 600 Metres. Over the concluding stages, BEAR SUPREME was crowded for room between GOLDEN LEGEND and SPLENDID GUY which got its head on the side and hung in under pressure over the final 100 Metres. The Veterinary Surgeon reported that on arrival back in the stable, it had been noted that TREASURE MAN had a swollen left hind suspensory ligament. The performance of TREASURE MAN, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, TREASURE MAN will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that GOLDEN LEGEND had bled from both nostrils and that ARCHER’S BOW had lost its left hind plate. NIGHTLIGN and PERFECT JOY were sent for sampling.
