TRIUMPHANT EAGLE was withdrawn on 3.7.13 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter BRAVENESS (C Y Ho). Before being allowed to race again, TRIUMPHANT EAGLE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SPITFIRE was crowded for room at the start between SUNNY FAY which, after leaning on the outside of its barrier, began awkwardly and shifted out and TOUCH GO which shifted in. Shortly after the start, BEAUTY SPARKLE was crowded for room between TOUCH GO and VICTORIUS which was taken in by SUPER FRESH. From a wide barrier, FAT CHOY HONG KONG was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. For some distance approaching and passing the 600 Metres, SPITFIRE proved very difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions when awkwardly placed close to the heels of BEAUTY SPARKLE. Passing the 600 Metres, SUPER FRESH got its head on the side and lay in towards the heels of TOUCH GO. Making the turn after the 500 Metres, NORDIC ONE got its head on the side and hung out, resulting in SUPER PLUS being taken wider. In the early part of the Straight, SUPER FRESH lay in towards the heels of TOUCH GO. Near the 50 Metres, TOUCH GO shifted out and brushed BEAUTY SPARKLE, resulting in that horse being shifted out and then racing tight inside BRAVENESS over the concluding stages. Throughout the race, DR SUPER travelled wide and without cover. BEAUTY SPARKLE and BRAVENESS were sent for sampling.
