Steward Report Predict Pace Map
TRUMP was withdrawn on 15.6.13 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter DREAM BUILDER (Z Purton). Before being allowed to race again, TRUMP will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SPLENDID VICTORY began awkwardly. NEW PET was crowded for room at the start between DREAM BUILDER and LORD SINCLAIR which shifted out. GOLDEN CHOPSTICKS was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. B Prebble (LORD SINCLAIR) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 900 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of DREAM BUILDER, causing that horse to be directed in across the running of DANEWIN TIGER which as a result was checked and lost the running to which it was rightfully entitled. B Prebble was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Thursday, 11 July 2013 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Happy Valley racemeeting on Thursday, 4 July 2013. In addition, B Prebble was fined $40,000 in lieu of a suspension for a period incorporating one further raceday. Making the first turn near the 700 Metres, DANEWIN TIGER got its head up and raced ungenerously when momentarily racing in restricted room inside DREAM BUILDER which was awkwardly placed outside the heels of PALEPALE. Making the first turn after the 700 Metres, COUR VALANT got its head on the side and hung out. Approaching and passing the 500 Metres, DANEWIN TIGER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of PALEPALE. Approaching the 250 Metres, DANEWIN TIGER was steadied and shifted to the outside of HYPERSONIC to obtain clear running after being disappointed for running between that horse and DREAM BUILDER. Throughout the race, LORD SINCLAIR travelled wide and without cover. When questioned, T Berry stated that he had ridden BO BO EXPRESS in a barrier trial in the lead up to today’s race and in that trial BO BO EXPRESS, which had drawn an inside gate, had been inclined to hang out. He said today BO BO EXPRESS, when obliged to race outside runners, got its head on the side making the first turn after the 700 Metres and continued to hang out on the turns despite his efforts to have it straighten up. He said at the entrance to the Straight BO BO EXPRESS hung out alarmingly towards the outside rail and he had to employ stringent measures to have the horse straighten up but to no avail. A veterinary inspection of BO BO EXPRESS including an endoscopic examination immediately following the race showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. The performance of BO BO EXPRESS, which had previously hung out in a barrier trial in March, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, BO BO EXPRESS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a series of consecutive official barrier trials around a bend and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of FIERY WHISPERER, M L Yeung stated that he rode the horse in a piece of work on the Large All Weather Track in the lead up to today’s race and based on that work he advised the trainer that, in his opinion, the horse had improved since its first up run following a lengthy break. He said FIERY WHISPERER was able to obtain a forward position in the early stages and after shifting in to race outside the leader COUR VALANT prior to the 800 Metres, FIERY WHISPERER then wanted to get its head on the side and shift out away from that horse. He said when this happened, FIERY WHISPERER immediately came off the bridle and was under pressure rounding the Home Turn to maintain its position. He added he placed the horse under pressure in the Straight, however, FIERY WHISPERER, which was having its first start on the All Weather Track today, did not stretch out and, in his opinion, raced disappointingly. A veterinary inspection of FIERY WHISPERER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings other than the horse had lost its right front plate. A veterinary inspection of NEW PET immediately following the race revealed that it was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being permitted to race again, NEW PET will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that DREAM BUILDER had lost its left front plate. LORD SINCLAIR, HYPERSONIC and BOULD MOVER were sent for sampling. <17/6/2013 Additional Veterinary Report>NEW PET, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time the horse was found to be displaying an irregular heart rhythm. NEW PET was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer B K Ng this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. As previously advised, NEW PET will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
