TURIN CHAMPION was withdrawn on 11.6.13 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by 1st Standby Declared Starter LOVING STAR (O Doleuze). Before being allowed to race again, TURIN CHAMPION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. LOVING STAR was slow to begin. From wide barriers, FIGHTER CLASS and MEDIC SWORDSMAN were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. After the 800 Metres, SUPER JOCKEY was taken wider by MY FAVORITE (T Berry) which shifted out from behind HINYUEN PALADIN. T Berry was advised to exercise more care than he did on this occasion when shifting ground in future. After this, SUPER JOCKEY was shifted in to obtain a position with cover behind MY FAVORITE. CHOICE EXCHEQUER, which was following, was steadied away from the heels of SUPER JOCKEY in consequence. After this, SUPER JOCKEY raced very greenly, got its head up and shifted out near the 650 Metres, resulting in MISTER MARC being hampered and taken wider. SUPER JOCKEY then shifted back in, resulting in CHOICE EXCHEQUER being inconvenienced and taken in, resulting in NEWS SUPREME being hampered. Passing the 250 Metre, SUPER JOCKEY shifted out abruptly under pressure and became unbalanced. SUPER JOCKEY continued to shift ground on a number of occasions for the remainder of the race. MY FAVORITE and WINNIE’S HORSE were sent for sampling.
