ADMIRATION was withdrawn on 3.5.13 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore). Before being allowed to race again, ADMIRATION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. GOLD-FUN began awkwardly. PENITENT was slow to begin. From the outside barrier, PACKING WHIZ was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Near the 700 Metres, GLORIOUS DAYS momentarily raced tight inside XTENSION which shifted in. PURE CHAMPION travelled wide and without cover throughout the race and then hung out rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight. Approaching the 200 Metres, PENITENT momentarily raced in restricted room between PURE CHAMPION which continued to hang out and GOLD-FUN which got its head on the side and shifted in under pressure. A veterinary inspection of KING MUFHASA including an endoscopic examination immediately following the race showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea and was also found to be lame in its left front leg. GLORIOUS DAYS, DAN EXCEL and HELENE SPIRIT were sent for sampling.
