FORTUNE BRAVO, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 29.4.13 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left hind). Before being allowed to race again, FORTUNE BRAVO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SATIRICAL BOY began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of NOBLE DELUXE. From wide barriers, CALIFORNIA DUDE, BUDDY BUDDIES and WAYFOONG EXPRESS were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. When racing wide in the early stages, PERCY JACKSON was taken back in order to obtain cover. For a considerable distance after the 1400 Metres, NOBLE DELUXE got its head up and proved very difficult to settle. Making the first turn near the 850 Metres, BUDDY BUDDIES became unbalanced when crowded for room inside NOBLE DELUXE which, after initially getting its head on the side and shifting in, was then taken in by TRUMP which in turn was racing tight inside PLENTIFUL (A Suborics). A Suborics was advised to ensure that he leaves sufficient racing room for runners to his inside in similar circumstances. GENKI TWINS had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight and approaching the 200 Metres was held up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of CLASSIC JEWELLERY when being shifted to the outside of that horse. Passing the 200 Metres, ELEGANCE KLAMMER was steadied away from the heels of BUDDY BUDDIES which shifted out into clear running. Also passing the 200 Metres, SATIRICAL BOY raced in restricted room between TRUMP which was giving ground and CALIFORNIA DUDE which itself was awkwardly placed inside the heels of PLENTIFUL. Close to the finishing line, GENKI TWINS and BUDDY BUDDIES raced tight. Throughout the race, PLENTIFUL and TRUMP travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of TRUMP immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. BUDDY BUDDIES and WHY NOT were sent for sampling.
