HERO’S WIN was withdrawn on 28.3.13 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (right front tendon injury). Before being allowed to race again, HERO’S WIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. As the start was effected, HANDSOME BATCHELOR, which had been fractious in the barriers, lifted its front feet off the ground and began only fairly. After this, HANDSOME BATCHELOR failed to muster speed despite being ridden along. DARK SECRET began awkwardly. From wide barriers, SABINA and SMART GUY were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. After the 1400 Metres, SABINA was left racing wide and without cover. After the 1100 Metres, KING OF WINE commenced to travel keenly and was steadied away from the heels of HANDSOME BATCHELOR. Near the 350 Metres, FOLLOW THE MONEY, which was commencing to give ground, was checked when crowded for room between BULLISH POWER (C Y Ho) which shifted out to obtain clear running and WEALTH PARK which was awkwardly placed inside the heels of SABINA (B Prebble) which got its head on the side and shifted in slightly. Whilst the shifts from the mounts of C Y Ho and B Prebble were not significant, nonetheless they were both advised to exercise due care in similar circumstances. SMART GUY was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight. After the 200 Metres, SMART GUY was shifted to the inside of SPICY SIAM when disappointed for running to the outside of that horse and inside STARLIT WARRIOR which shifted in under pressure. SMART GUY and SPICY SIAM were sent for sampling.
