After being loaded, BOLD TACK became fractious. Before being allowed to race again, BOLD TACK will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. SHARP PRINT was crowded for room at the start between ENJOY THE FUN and LOVING ALL, both of which shifted ground. BEAUTIFUL SCENERY began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of GOAL AND GOLD which shifted in across the running of BEAUTIFUL SCENERY, causing that horse to be hampered. From a wide barrier, TELECOM TOP STAR was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Passing the 1100 Metres, GOAL AND GOLD was steadied away from the heels of EPEE DE HUA. Near the 900 Metres, HEY HA MASTER raced tight inside CRIMSON which got its head on the side and shifted in after being brushed by BOLD TACK. Near the 850 Metres, BEAUTIFUL SCENERY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SHARP PRINT after being taken in by FLYING KEEPER. After the 800 Metres, GOAL AND GOLD was left racing wide and without cover. Shortly after entering the Straight, GOAL AND GOLD, which was commencing to give ground, shifted in and made heavy contact with FLYING KEEPER which was also shifting out to obtain clear running. This resulted in both horses becoming unbalanced. Near the 300 Metres, SHARP PRINT was shifted out away from the heels of HEY HA MASTER. Approaching the 100 Metres, BEAUTIFUL SCENERY shifted out and bumped FLYING KEEPER. Then over the concluding stages, FLYING KEEPER and BEAUTIFUL SCENERY raced tight. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of A Suborics (TELECOM TOP STAR), 5th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse’s finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out at least hands and heels to the end of the race where circumstances permit. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that ENJOY THE FUN had lost its right front plate. A veterinary inspection of BOLD TACK after the race did not show any significant findings. JUST GOOD, EPEE DE HUA and ENJOY THE FUN were sent for sampling.
