PROSPERITY AETHON began very awkwardly and shifted in abruptly at the start, making heavy contact with the hindquarters of SAMADHI, causing both horses to become unbalanced. PERFECT FINISH began awkwardly and shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of SPURS ON. From wide barriers, SEA THE PEARLS and GOLDWEAVER were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. At the 1000 Metres, KICK SERVE momentarily raced in restricted room between PROSPERITY AETHON and RAINBOW FIGHTER. Near the 50 Metres, PERFECT FINISH, which had been held up for clear running and was finishing off the race strongly, shifted out and bumped SEA THE PEARLS. SPURS ON, which was racing to the outside of the heels of SEA THE PEARLS, was hampered in consequence. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that SPURS ON had lost its left hind plate. A veterinary inspection of PROLIFIC CHAMPION after the race did not show any significant findings. BUNDLE OF LOVE and DREAM BUILDER were sent for sampling.
