On arrival at the barriers, the tongue tie carried by EASY SUCCESS was replaced. EASY SUCCESS shifted in at the start and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of OPEN SESAME. Making the first turn near the 1000 Metres, VICTORY GENERAL got its head on the side when awkwardly placed close to the heels of HAPPY FOREVER and shifted out towards the heels of JUMBO GOLD. Also making the first turn near the 1000 Metres, EASY SUCCESS hung out. CAPITAL K had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight. Approaching the 200 Metres, MASTER RIO was momentarily held up for clear running. In the Straight, VICTORY GENERAL got its head on the side and lay out under pressure. Throughout the race, JUMBO GOLD travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of VICTORY GENERAL after the race did not show any significant findings. GLORY HORSIE, GREAT SPIRIT and FLYING SMART were sent for sampling.
