LIFELINE ELITE was withdrawn on 27.12.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter WINDICATOR STAR. Before being allowed to race again, LIFELINE ELITE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. GOLDEN WIDE was slow to begin. BOLERO, which was leaning on the outside of its stall, began awkwardly. NINTH GALAXY began awkwardly, shifted in and in doing so bumped the hindquarters of SERENDIPITY which became unbalanced. WINDICATOR STAR and GOLD RACER bumped at the start. Near the 600 Metres, SERENDIPITY shifted in and bumped the running rail. Shortly after entering the Straight, FOREVER JOYFUL got its head on the side and shifted in towards the heels of HAWTHORNE which itself shifted out slightly. Throughout the race, FOREVER JOYFUL travelled wide and without cover. N Callan (FOREVER JOYFUL), 12th placegetter, was fined $3,000 for failing to weigh in as required following the race. BUNDLE OF LOVE, WINDICATOR STAR and SUPER FRESH were sent for sampling. <31/12/2012 Additional Veterinary Report> The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that NINTH GALAXY was lame in its right hind leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, NINTH GALAXY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
