SUPREME TAIJI was withdrawn on 27.11.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter FLASHING GUY (A Suborics). Before being allowed to race again, SUPREME TAIJI will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. As the start was effected, SECRET OF WINNING lifted its front feet off the ground and bounded in the air, resulting in SECRET OF WINNING losing ground. JACK’S GEM was slow to begin. From wide barriers, TRUE COURAGE, HIGHEST ACCLAIM and FORTUNE TOGETHER were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. At the 800 Metres, FORTUNE TOGETHER proved difficult to settle and was shifted away from the heels of JACK’S GEM. After this, FORTUNE TOGETHER continued to over-race. After the 700 Metres, D DAY SUPER was awkwardly placed inside the heels of FLASHING GUY which throughout the race travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of FORTUNE TOGETHER after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, FORTUNE TOGETHER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. VINTAGE HUSSLER and FLASHING GUY were sent for sampling.
