VICTORIUS was withdrawn on 23.11.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (fever). Before being allowed to race again, VICTORIUS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the 200 Metres, FAY DEEP was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GLENEALY STAR which got its head on the side and shifted out under pressure. Passing the 50 Metres, HELENE FUN STAR became unbalanced after being bumped by HO IN ONE which shifted out slightly. When questioned, M Chadwick stated that he had been asked to ride HELENE FUN STAR in about a midfield position with cover if possible as the horse had not finished off its most recent race when ridden along in the early stages to obtain a forward position. He said that making the first turn he was left racing in a three wide position outside of HO IN ONE and for this reason he steadied HELENE FUN STAR further in order to obtain cover behind that horse. He said this resulted in HELENE FUN STAR racing slightly further back than had been anticipated. Trainer A S Cruz confirmed that he was disappointed with the manner in which HELENE FUN STAR had finished off its most recent race after having to be ridden along to obtain a forward position. He said from barrier 10, he did not want the same scenario to unfold and for this reason he asked Jockey Chadwick to ride HELENE FUN STAR in about a midfield position with cover in the hope that it would be able to close off its race more strongly than it did at its most recent start. A veterinary inspection of BOMBER JET after the race did not show any significant findings. SOLAR GREAT and FINN MACCOOL were sent for sampling.
