After being loaded, GOLDEN GUNNERS became fractious. Before being allowed to race again, GOLDEN GUNNERS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. GOLDEN GUNNERS began awkwardly and shifted in, resulting in STAR OF FAME being crowded for room inside DOUBLE MOON. ALL LUCKY, PERFECT JOY and WINSOME were all crowded for room at the start between ELEGANT FRAMES which shifted out and NAMJONG BLOSSOMS which, after initially shifting in, shifted further ground after becoming unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by WINSOME. A short distance later, PERFECT JOY lost ground when crowded for room between WINSOME which continued to be awkwardly placed inside the heels of NAMJONG BLOSSOMS and ALL LUCKY which got its head on the side and shifted out. HEARTLAND was slow to begin. Near the 1000 Metres, ALL LUCKY shifted out, resulting in WINSOME being taken out onto SPECTACULAR AWARD. STAR OF FAME, which was following SPECTACULAR AWARD, was steadied away from the heels of that horse in consequence and DOUBLE MOON, which was following STAR OF FAME, got its head up when proving very difficult to settle. Near the 800 Metres, PERFECT JOY, HEARTLAND and SPECTACULAR AWARD raced tight inside GOLDEN GUNNERS which shifted in momentarily. As GOLDEN GUNNERS was being shifted out to relieve the tightening to these runners, it had to be checked away from the heels of SAFARI MAGIC which was shifting in when travelling wide and without cover. No action was taken. Rounding the Home Turn, HEARTLAND was held up for clear running when awkwardly placed close to the heels of WINSOME. Near the 300 Metres, HEARTLAND was bumped by WINSOME which, when giving ground, got its head on the side and shifted in. In this incident, WINSOME became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by HEARTLAND. Passing the 300 Metres, DOUBLE MOON was shifted to the inside of SUPER BROTHER to obtain clear running. Throughout the race, HAPPY CERAMIBO travelled wide and without cover. T Angland (HAPPY CERAMIBO) reported that his saddle shifted back on jumping. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that SUPER BROTHER had sustained a wound to the inside of the right hind fetlock. A veterinary inspection of HAPPY CERAMIBO, GOLDEN GUNNERS and SPECTACULAR AWARD after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of WINSOME after the race did not show any significant findings, however, an endoscopic examination was unable to be conducted on the horse. ELEGANT FRAMES and HEARTLAND were sent for sampling.
