GOLDEN BAUHINIA and IDYLLIC WIND made heavy contact at the start. CHINA GOOD and TOUCH WELL bumped at the start and then a short distance later TOUCH WELL was crowded for room between CHINA GOOD and MARCO POLO which shifted in slightly. From a wide barrier, STORM UNICORN was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. In the early part of the Straight, IDYLLIC WIND was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SECRET OF WINNING. Throughout the race, TRUE COURAGE travelled wide and without cover and making the turn near the 500 Metres got its head on the side and lay out. Close to the finishing line, TOMODACHI was steadied away from the heels of CHINA GOOD which over the concluding stages got its head on the side and shifted in under pressure. A veterinary inspection of SICHUAN EXPRESS after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of TRUE COURAGE after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse’s trachea. GOLDEN BAUHINIA, CHINA GOOD and FLASHING GUY were sent for sampling.
