FORGIVE AND FORGET and GIFT IS GIFT were crowded for room at the start between BERNARD’S CHOICE and HAPPY CERAMIBO which shifted out. From the outside barrier, FIRST IN COMMAND was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Shortly after the start, LUCKY RECORD and SMART KIDS raced tight between IMPECCABLE which shifted out and CAN DO which shifted in. Near the 650 Metres, CAN DO (D Whyte) broke down. HAPPY CERAMIBO was checked and shifted out away from the heels of CAN DO, resulting in SMART KIDS, which was following, being checked and shifted out away from the heels of HAPPY CERAMIBO. IMPECCABLE was severely hampered. LUCKY RECORD was unable to avoid CAN DO and cannoned into that horse, resulting in its rider, U Rispoli, being dislodged from LUCKY RECORD. In this incident, FORGIVE AND FORGET was also inconvenienced. CAN DO then shifted in, resulting in FIRST IN COMMAND and BERNARD’S CHOICE being severely checked. Then passing the 600 Metres, D Whyte was dislodged from CAN DO. Passing the 50 Metres, FORGIVE AND FORGET was steadied when crowded for room between SMART KIDS and HAPPY CERAMIBO which shifted out. FINN MACCOOL and GIFT IS GIFT were sent for sampling.
