SEA DIAMOND was difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, SEA DIAMOND will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. After being loaded, HOW SPEEDY became fractious. Before being allowed to race again, HOW SPEEDY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. HOW SPEEDY began awkwardly and, from a wide barrier, was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. SILVER DRAGON began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped GIGGLES FOREVER. After the 900 Metres, WHY NOT was steadied away from the heels of SILVER DRAGON which was steadied. Making the first turn near the 850 Metres, MERACUS raced tight inside MR AWARD which got its head on the side and shifted in away from MY MEMORY. After the 600 Metres, SILVER DRAGON became unbalanced when steadied away from the heels of QUIET CONFIDENCE. WHY NOT, which was following, was inconvenienced in consequence. Rounding the Home Turn, MERACUS raced tight inside MY MEMORY. In the early part of the Straight, SEA DIAMOND got its head on the side and shifted out. Throughout the race, HAPPY KAISER travelled wide and without cover and rounding the Home Turn was bumped by QUIET CONFIDENCE which shifted out to obtain clear running. When questioned, A Suborics stated that as TOAST FOR TROPHY had not been finishing off its races when ridden to obtain forward positions, it had been decided to ride the horse more conservatively today. He said it was hoped that TOAST FOR TROPHY would be able to obtain a position in about midfield. He said in the early stages he shifted TOAST FOR TROPHY across behind runners and obtained a position behind GIGGLES FOREVER. He said however that making the first turn TOAST FOR TROPHY lost ground after shifting out across the heels of WHY NOT. He said after this he rode TOAST FOR TROPHY along, however, the horse raced greenly and had difficulty in maintaining its position. He added he continued to ride TOAST FOR TROPHY along in the Straight, however, the horse finished off the race only fairly. A veterinary inspection of TOAST FOR TROPHY after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, TOAST FOR TROPHY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SEA DIAMOND and MR AWARD were sent for sampling.
