FORTUNE TOGETHER shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of TURIN CHAMPION at the start. From the outside barrier, DARPANA was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, ALL THE WINNERS failed to muster speed and consequently raced back in the field. Near the 800 Metres, TOUCH WELL, which was attempting to remain racing in a one-off position, became unbalanced when bumped by OCEAN WIDE (W M Lai) which shifted in. W M Lai was severely reprimanded and advised that in slightly different circumstances he may have found himself in breach of the Rules. He was further advised not to place unnecessary pressure on other runners. When TOUCH WELL was taken in towards the rail, QUANTUM EXPRESS, which was following, was hampered in consequence. Also near the 800 Metres, FORTUNE TOGETHER shifted out away from the heels of TURIN CHAMPION and in doing so hampered LUCKY TYCOON. After the 700 Metres, GRACYTOM was left racing wide and without cover. Making the first turn near the 650 Metres, OCEAN WIDE got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of HINYUEN PALADIN. Passing the 600 Metres, FORTUNE TOGETHER proved very difficult to settle and was checked away from the heels of TURIN CHAMPION. Near the 300 Metres, QUANTUM EXPRESS lost ground when reluctant to maintain its position inside TURIN CHAMPION which was shifted in after having difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight. Near the 50 Metres, QUANTUM EXPRESS was shifted out away from the heels of TIME RUNNER. Over the concluding stages, LUCKY TYCOON raced in restricted room between GRACYTOM and FORTUNE TOGETHER which was racing tight to the inside of DARPANA. In the Straight, TOUCH WELL got its head on the side and shifted out under pressure. TURIN CHAMPION and GRACYTOM were sent for sampling.
