SUPREME TAIJI was slow to begin and then after the 800 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of RIDE ON THE FIRE. Approaching the 600 Metres, PURE FORCE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of VICTORY GENERAL. After the 600 Metres, VICTORY GENERAL got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of BET ON ME. Then near the 500 Metres, VICTORY GENERAL, which was continuing to race ungenerously, shifted in, resulting in SUPER BROTHER being crowded for room. Shortly after entering the Straight, GOLD EDITION got its head on the side and shifted in. For some distance after the 200 Metres, VICTORY GENERAL raced tight between SECRET OF WINNING and EVER BEAUTY which shifted out slightly. Then near the 100 Metres, SECRET OF WINNING shifted in marginally when bumped on the hindquarters by VICTORY GENERAL, resulting in VICTORY GENERAL being crowded for room and becoming unbalanced after making contact with the hindquarters of EVER BEAUTY. Also near the 100 Metres, SUPREME TAIJI was steadied when held up for clear running behind RIDE ON THE FIRE and inside GOLD EDITION. Over the concluding stages, SUPER BROTHER was steadied away from the heels of SUPREME TAIJI. Throughout the race, FIVE STARS HOTEL travelled wide and without cover. Also throughout the race, EVER BEAUTY travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of SUPER BROTHER after the race did not show any significant findings. SUPREME TAIJI, RIDE ON THE FIRE and SECRET OF WINNING were sent for sampling.
