BREEZE OF LUCK was slow to begin. DIAMOND RAINBOW (T Clark) was crowded for room at the start between DANEWIN TIGER and SUNSHINE KID which shifted in. In this incident, T Clark momentarily lost the use of his left stirrup iron. DIAMOND RAINBOW then shifted in and bumped DANEWIN TIGER. From wide barriers, FORTUNE TOGETHER and ETERNAL FAME were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Near the 900 Metres, STAR OF FAME got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SERENDIPITY. Passing the 750 Metres, DANEWIN TIGER was taken out to a three wide position without cover when SUNSHINE KID shifted out from behind SUPERIOR WARRIOR. After this, DANEWIN TIGER travelled wide and without cover. Approaching the 400 Metres, DIAMOND RAINBOW raced tight between DANEWIN TIGER and SERENDIPITY. Near the 150 Metres, SUPERIOR WARRIOR momentarily raced tight inside SUNSHINE KID which shifted in marginally. Over the concluding stages, BREEZE OF LUCK was steadied when unable to improve between SUPERIOR WARRIOR and STAR OF FAME. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on SUNSHINE KID at the request of Trainer C W Chang. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SUNSHINE KID will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BREEZE OF LUCK, SERENDIPITY and SUNSHINE KID were sent for sampling.
