SMART GUY was slow to begin. HAPPY HOMING began awkwardly, shifted out at the start and bumped DEEP THINKER which itself was tight inside ALL VICTORY. After this, DEEP THINKER was taken across behind runners. From a wide barrier, GRAND DANCER was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Near the 650 Metres, SMART GUY became unbalanced after shirting out towards the heels of KEEN WONGCHOY. Throughout the race, FRESH AIR travelled wide and without cover. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that HAPPY HOMING had lost its left front plate. A veterinary inspection of ALL VICTORY after the race did not show any significant findings. RACING REWARD and COSMIC BOOM were sent for sampling.
