STALLION SUPREME proved difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, STALLION SUPREME will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. SUPREME JEWELLERY and GOLDEN YIELD bumped at the start. HAPPY CHAMPION began awkwardly and shortly after the start was checked when crowded for room between GOLD EDITION and ELECTRONIC FORTUNE which was taken out by ALWAYS WELL which began awkwardly and shifted ground. K C Leung (VICTORY GENERAL) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that passing the 900 Metres he failed to take sufficient measures to prevent his mount from shifting out when not clear of LIFELINE ELITE, resulting in LIFELINE ELITE being taken out across the rightful running of TAKE BY STORM which was hampered and lost the running to which it was rightfully entitled and in turn causing SUPREME JEWELLERY which was racing to the outside of TAKE BY STORM to be hampered and lose its rightful running. K C Leung was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday, 27 February 2012 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting next Sunday, 19 February 2012. After the 800 Metres, ELECTRONIC FORTUNE (O Doleuze) got it head on the side and lay out. O Doleuze reported that ELECTRONIC FORTUNE continued to lay out throughout the remainder of the race. Near the 350 Metres, both LIFELINE ELITE and GOLD EDITION became unbalanced as a result of GOLD EDITION shifting out and bumping LIFELINE ELITE. Passing the 250 Metres, LIFELINE ELITE and GOLD EDITION again became unbalanced after bumping. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that an endoscopic examination of GOLDEN YIELD showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea and was confirmed to be a “roarer”. The performance of GOLDEN YIELD, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, GOLDEN YIELD will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of SUPREME JEWELLERY after the race revealed that the horse had sustained a cut to the outside of the left front cannon. Before being allowed to race again, SUPREME JEWELLERY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. LIFELINE ELITE and ELECTRONIC FORTUNE were sent for sampling.
