EURO POWER, which was fractious in the barriers, was slow to begin. B Prebble (UNION’S STAR) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 1000 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of EURO POWER, causing that horse to be hampered and taken in across the rightful running of REGENCY WINNER which as a result lost its running to which it was rightfully entitled and was checked and in turn was taken in onto MAKE IT which became unbalanced when crowded for room. B Prebble was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Sunday, 2 October 2011 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Sunday, 25 September 2011. In the early stages, SHAHJEE travelled wide and without cover and after the 800 Metres was allowed to stride forward into a position outside the lead. Approaching the 800 Metres, FLORA DANICA proved difficult to settle and was steadied away from the heels of WINDICATOR POWER which shifted out slightly. Rounding the Home Turn, STAR OF FAME was checked away from the heels of TEAM WORK. EURO POWER, which was following, was checked in consequence, shifted in and made contact with the running rail. Shortly after entering into the Straight, TOPPING LIGHT was shifted in away from the heels of LOADS OF JOY. Over the concluding stages, TEAM WORK was awkwardly placed close to the heels of TOPPING LIGHT which shifted in. Because of this, TEAM WORK was not ridden out right to the end of the race. A veterinary inspection of EURO POWER after the race did not show any significant findings. WINDICATOR POWER and SHAHJEE were sent for sampling.
