POTENTIAL was withdrawn on 8.10.10 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (substantial amount of mucopus in trachea on scoping after track work). Before being allowed to race again, POTENTIAL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When proceeding to the barriers, KING ON EARTH became fractious and dislodged its rider, B Prebble. As B Prebble was dislodged, the bridle carried by KING ON EARTH was pulled from the horse’s head. KING ON EARTH proceeded to the top of the 1800 Metre chute where the bridle was refitted. On arrival at the Start, KING ON EARTH was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said, in his opinion, it was suitable to race. B Prebble was found fit to fulfil his remaining riding engagements. SPICY SHRIMP shifted out at the start and bumped GOOD LOOKING WATCH. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, COSMO SUCCESSOR failed to muster speed and raced back in the field. Over the final 50 Metres, GREAT RENOWN was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GOOD LOOKING WATCH. Throughout the race, FORTUNE TOGETHER travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. When questioned regarding the performance of ALL THE WINNERS, Apprentice T H So stated that he obtained a forward position on the horse as instructed. He said after travelling well throughout the race, ALL THE WINNERS came under pressure early in the Straight and then was most disappointing in its failure to respond to his riding for the remainder of the race. He did say that ALL THE WINNERS, which was having its first start at Sha Tin today, gave him the impression that it may be better suited by racing at Happy Valley Racecourse. A veterinary inspection of FORTUNE TOGETHER and ALL THE WINNERS after the race did not show any significant findings. GOOD BOY BOY, GENERAL DANROAD and SPICY SHRIMP were sent for sampling.
