The Veterinary Officer reported that an inspection of HAWTHORNE in the saddling stalls revealed that the horse was bleeding as a result of a nail puncture to the sole of the right front foot. Acting on veterinary advice that HAWTHORNE was not suitable to race, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the horse. Before being allowed to race again, HAWTHORNE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. INVINCIBLEKINDNESS began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped HO HAPPY. INVINCIBLEKINDNESS then blundered badly, resulting in its rider, Apprentice C Y Ho, becoming badly unbalanced. Near the 300 Metres, SUPER FORTUNE and HO HAPPY bumped. A veterinary inspection of HO HAPPY after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, HO HAPPY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. LITTLE BRIDGE and JUN DAO were sent for sampling. The Veterinary Officer reported that SUPER FORTUNE had bled from both nostrils and that INVINCIBLEKINDNESS had sustained a cut to the inside of the right front heel.
