Shortly after the start, ST FEVRE was checked when crowded for room between DIAMOND BRILLIANCE which began awkwardly and FOREVER ELATION which was taken out by SKYVIEW BAR which in turn was taken out by HONGKONG SUPERSTAR which shifted ground despite the efforts of its rider. Near the 1150 Metres, FOREVER ELATION and SKYVIEW BAR were awkwardly placed between DIAMOND BRILLIANCE and HONGKONG SUPERSTAR. Near the 150 Metres, HIGH POINT was steadied away from the heels of the weakening CANNONISE when shifting to the outside of that horse to continue improving. Over the concluding stages, HIGH POINT raced tight inside FOREVER ELATION. Just prior to the winning post, ST FEVRE was shifted in away from the heels of SWEET SANETTE. In doing so, ST FEVRE shifted in and bumped SUPER BOY. A veterinary inspection of DIAMOND BRILLIANCE after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse’s trachea. SWEET SANETTE, VITAL FLYER and ISLAND SUPER were sent for sampling.
