FUN AND FAST, which was difficult to load, will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test before being allowed to race again. FUN AND FAST and HEALTHY MANNER were slow to begin. HOT PEPPER began awkwardly and then travelled wide and without cover throughout. From the outside barrier, SONOFTHEWEST was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. At the entrance to the Straight, ELECTRONIC DRAGON was shifted out after being steadied away from the heels of COMPACT YARN. Passing the 150 Metres, COMPACT YARN was momentarily awkwardly placed on the heels of ELECTRONIC DRAGON. Over the concluding stages, LOTS OF FUN was not ridden out to the line after improving close to the heels of LOADS OF JOY. LUCKY SELECTION hung out for the majority of the race. When questioned regarding the performance of VINSANTO, J Lloyd said that his mount travelled well rounding the Home Turn and it gave him the feel that it would be competitive at the end of the race. He said that shortly after entering the Straight he placed VINSANTO under pressure, however, the horse disappointed him in the manner in which it responded to his riding. He said after this VINSANTO faded in the Straight and he was unable to offer any explanation for the horse’s poor performance. A veterinary inspection of VINSANTO after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of VINSANTO was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, VINSANTO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. COMPACT YARN, TOM’S EIGHTH and ELECTRONIC DRAGON were sent for sampling. <15/3/2010 Additional Veterinary Report> VINSANTO, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. VINSANTO was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer A T Millard this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in the left front leg. As previously advised, VINSANTO will have to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
