TERTIARY CHAMPION, which was fractious in the stalls, began awkwardly and lost a considerable amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, TERTIARY CHAMPION will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. HAPPY REUNION was slow to begin. Over the final 200 Metres, GOOD STRIKE hung out and at the 50 Metres shifted ground and bumped with HAPPY REUNION which shifted in slightly. For the major part of the race, WING MASTER hung in. Z Purton (CHAIN WIN) said the horse had disappointed connections with the manner in which it had closed its races off when being ridden prominently in its previous race starts. He said because of this today he was asked to ride CHAIN WIN more quietly in the hope that it would close the race off. He said when being steadied in the early stages CHAIN WIN got its head up on several occasions, then travelled satisfactorily and made good ground between the 400 Metres and the 200 Metres, then the horse’s run appeared to finish. He said the manner in which CHAIN WIN raced today indicated to him that at this stage of the horse’s career it may be better suited racing around a bend. GOLDEN BAUHINIA was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of GOLDEN BAUHINIA after the race did not show any significant findings. GOOD STRIKE and BONDI LAD were sent for sampling.
