08/07/2020  Class 5  Happy Valley  Turf  A  1650m   Going: GOOD  (2.71)   Rating: 040-000

BREAK RECORD was withdrawn on raceday afternoon by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice due to the horse becoming fractious when being transported to Happy Valley. Before being allowed to race again, BREAK RECORD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. GOLDEN CANNON was slow to begin. From wide barriers, GOLDEN GENERAL and GREEN ENVY were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, GOLDEN GENERAL and GREEN ENVY, which improved quickly to be racing inside the heels of KWAICHUNG BROTHERS, raced tight between that horse and MONEY WINNER. Then passing the 1300 Metres, GOLDEN GENERAL was crowded for room between MONEY WINNER and GREEN ENVY which, when continuing to race tight inside KWAICHUNG BROTHERS, got its head on the side and shifted in away from that horse. After being crowded for room, GOLDEN GENERAL then commenced to race keenly and got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of VIRTUS STAR passing the 1200 Metres. After this, KWAICHUNG BROTHERS travelled wide and without cover and after the 700 Metres was allowed to improve its position to briefly obtain cover near the 500 Metres. Near the 450 Metres, GREEN ENVY was inconvenienced and raced tight outside DASHING GRACE which was taken out by VIRTUS STAR which was shifted to the outside of HAPPY HOUR to improve. Passing the 200 Metres, GOLDEN GENERAL was shifted to the inside of MONEY WINNER after being disappointed for running between that horse and GOLDEN CANNON which was shifted in away from the heels of KWAICHUNG BROTHERS to obtain clear running. For the majority of the race, DASHING GRACE travelled wide and without cover and then in the Straight gave ground. The performance of DASHING GRACE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, DASHING GRACE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of GREEN ENVY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. HAPPY ICHIBAN and MISCHIEVOUS SUNDAE were sent for sampling.

MELBOURNE HALL was withdrawn on 7.7.20 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (blood abnormality) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter WONDERFUL TIMES (B Shinn). Before being allowed to race again, MELBOURNE HALL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. WONDERFUL TREASURE began only fairly. MOMENTUM HAPPY and NOBLE MAN bumped at the start. WONDERFUL TIMES was crowded for room on jumping between STRATHCLYDE and JADE THEATRE which shifted in. After this, from a wide barrier, JADE THEATRE was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover. From wide barriers, STRATHCLYDE and DAZZLING FEELING were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 1150 Metres, NOBLE MAN and MOMENTUM HAPPY were momentarily crowded for room inside SPACE which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. Making the turn after the 1000 Metres, WONDERFUL TREASURE, which was having it first race start, got its head up and made the turn awkwardly and in doing so shifted out a number of horses, resulting in STRATHCLYDE being hampered when taken wider. WONDERFUL TREASURE then travelled keenly for some distance. SHINING ON had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight and passing the 250 Metres brushed SPLIT OF A SECOND when improving into tight running between that horse and SPACE. For the majority of the race, JADE THEATRE travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding his riding of SPACE, M Chadwick stated that at its last start he was asked to ride the horse with cover if possible to ensure that it was able to finish off the race. He said it was explained to him on that occasion that SPACE had been disappointing in the manner in which it had closed off its races and therefore it was felt that SPACE’s best opportunity would be for it to obtain cover. He said after riding his mount positively from a wide barrier in the early stages, he attempted to obtain cover passing the 800 Metres, however, due to the makeup of the field on that occasion SPACE was left racing wide and without cover and therefore he had to allow his mount to improve its position to race outside the lead but continuing to race wide and without cover. He said because of the circumstances of the race SPACE then weakened over the concluding stages. He said in tonight’s race he was again asked to ride SPACE positively in the early stages to obtain cover if at all possible. He said it was felt that there was good speed engaged in tonight’s race drawn inside SPACE and that MOMENTUM HAPPY would form a part of this speed. He said it was therefore hoped that he could follow MOMENTUM HAPPY across and obtain a trailing position behind that horse or have a horse drawn wider to be ridden forward of SPACE in the early stages and obtain cover behind that horse. He said SPACE began very well and although it was available to him to ride his mount along to clear NOBLE MAN, MOMENTUM HAPPY and FEARLESS FIRE in the early stages, he felt that this would be counter-productive for the horse to be able to obtain cover as riding it along would make it difficult for him to then steady SPACE and obtain cover. He said NOBLE MAN maintained its position to the inside of SPACE in the early stages and he therefore had to ride SPACE along to clear that horse and as it took him some time to clear NOBLE MAN, this allowed MOMENTUM HAPPY the opportunity to improve its position to the inside of that horse and obtain the lead after the 1100 Metres. He said he followed MOMENTUM HAPPY across with a view to possibly obtaining cover behind that horse, however, when ATHENA and SPLIT OF A SECOND maintained those positions, this resulted in SPACE racing outside MOMENTUM HAPPY and without cover. Mr P F Yiu, the trainer of SPACE, confirmed the instructions given to Jockey Chadwick and stressed that he wished for SPACE to obtain cover in tonight’s race if at all possible. He said he was disappointed with the manner in which SPACE gave ground at its most recent start and the manner in which it failed to find the line in some of its earlier races when trained by him and therefore he felt that riding the horse with cover tonight would provide the horse with the opportunity to finish off the race. He added although SPACE raced outside MOMENTUM HAPPY rather than being able to obtain cover, he was satisfied with the manner in which SPACE was ridden as the horse was able to finish off the race better than it had been. After viewing the videos and considering the evidence of Jockey Chadwick and Mr Yiu, the Stewards advised Jockey Chadwick that they would report his explanation and took no further action. A veterinary inspection of WONDERFUL TREASURE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. FEARLESS FIRE, MOMENTUM HAPPY and SHINING ON were sent for sampling.

08/07/2020  Class 4  Happy Valley  Turf  A  1200m   Going: GOOD  (2.71)   Rating: 060-040

LUCKY TURBO shifted out at the start and bumped MALDIVES. SKY TREASURE got its head up on jumping and then despite being hard ridden in the early stages failed to muster speed. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, HARMONY N HOME was also slow to muster speed and then travelled wide and without cover throughout the race. When being ridden along to obtain a forward position, MAJESTIC CONQUEROR got its head on the side and shifted out abruptly shortly after the start. From a wide barrier, CAN’T TOUCH THIS was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. After travelling a short distance, XPONENTIAL shifted in and bumped SPRINT FORWARD. Approaching the 1100 Metres, SWEETLY BABY was bumped by SPRINT FORWARD which got its head on the side and shifted in away from XPONENTIAL when racing tight inside that horse. Approaching the 1000 Metres, LUCKY TURBO was bumped by SWEETLY BABY which raced tight inside SPRINT FORWARD which in turn raced tight inside XPONENTIAL which was being steadied to allow FANTASTIC FABIO to cross. Near the 850 Metres, LUCKY TURBO and SWEETLY BABY made contact. For some distance approaching and passing the 800 Metres, XPONENTIAL was awkwardly placed inside the heels of FANTASTIC FABIO. Making the turn near the 550 Metres, INNO LEGEND was crowded for room between XPONENTIAL which continued to be awkwardly placed behind FANTASTIC FABIO and MALDIVES which shifted out marginally making the turn. Passing the 300 Metres, MALDIVES got its head on the side, lay in and bumped the hindquarters of LUCKY TURBO, causing MALDIVES in particular to become unbalanced. Near the 250 Metres, INNO LEGEND was directed to the outside of FANTASTIC FABIO after being disappointed for running between that horse which shifted in and GALLANT CROWN which shifted out. Passing the 100 Metres, MALDIVES shifted around the heels of SPRINT FORWARD in order to obtain clear running and in doing so brushed SWEETLY BABY. When questioned regarding his riding of GALLANT CROWN, K C Leung stated that the horse was having its first visit to Happy Valley tonight having previously not raced or trialed here. He said from the horse’s inside gate he was asked to have GALLANT CROWN in about a midfield position if possible. He said GALLANT CROWN began satisfactorily and he allowed his mount to obtain what was going to be a midfield position racing outside INNO LEGEND. He said approaching the 1100 Metres GALLANT CROWN commenced to be crowded for room inside SWEETLY BABY and he felt that maintaining his position inside that horse would have required him to ride GALLANT CROWN aggressively and as the horse had not previously been to Happy Valley, he was unsure as to how it would respond to being ridden along with the turn near the 1000 Metres approaching and therefore he elected to take a trailing position behind INNO LEGEND rather than continue to race outside that horse. He said this resulted in GALLANT CROWN losing some ground. He said GALLANT CROWN made the turn near the 1000 Metres awkwardly and shifted out and he had to help the horse around the turn which resulted in GALLANT CROWN losing further ground. He said he commenced to ride the horse along after the 1000 Metres to make up lost ground including slapping it down the shoulder with the whip. He said along the Back Straight he continued to ride GALLANT CROWN along whilst continuing to slap it down the shoulder with the whip and GALLANT CROWN gradually made ground to join the field after the 600 Metres. He added he continued to ride GALLANT CROWN along which allowed the horse to improve its position to be racing behind MALDIVES rounding the Home Turn. He said immediately on straightening he shifted GALLANT CROWN to the outside of MALDIVES to continue improving and GALLANT CROWN responded well to his riding. He said after shifting GALLANT CROWN to the outside of SWEETLY BABY near the 250 Metres, he was required to hesitate for a number of strides passing the 200 Metres due to GALLANT CROWN being held up for clear running behind SWEETLY BABY and HARMONY N HOME and inside FANTASTIC FABIO. He said after the 200 Metres SWEETLY BABY shifted in under pressure which presented a run between that horse and HARMONY N HOME and he immediately rode his mount along to improve into that run. He said as he did this HARMONY N HOME shifted in under pressure which resulted in him being disappointed for running between SWEETLY BABY and HARMONY N HOME and having to direct GALLANT CROWN to the outside of HARMONY N HOME and then XPONENTIAL. He said GALLANT CROWN was able to obtain clear running to the outside of XPONENTIAL near the 100 Metres and the horse then finished off the race strongly when ridden out over the concluding stages. After considering Jockey Leung’s evidence and after viewing the videos, the Stewards were satisfied with Jockey Leung’s riding of GALLANT CROWN and therefore no further action was taken. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that FANTASTIC FABIO had sustained a small laceration to the outside of the right hind heel. A veterinary inspection of SKY TREASURE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SPRINT FORWARD, XPONENTIAL and GALLANT CROWN were sent for sampling.

WINNING WARRIOR, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 7.7.20 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left hind). Before being allowed to race again, WINNING WARRIOR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. JUNZI began only fairly. SOLAR VICTORY, which was fractious in the barriers, began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped HAPPY WINNER. SOLAR VICTORY then became unbalanced, shifted out and made contact with the hindquarters of PLAY TO WIN which became unbalanced and which caused SOLAR VICTORY to then shift in and again bump the hindquarters of HAPPY WINNER which was racing tight outside YEE CHEONG LUCKY after receiving contact from that horse. AURORA STEED was tightened for room on jumping between SUPREME PLUS and KWAI CHUNG ELITE, both of which shifted ground. After this, KWAI CHUNG ELITE was steadied to obtain cover. From a wide barrier, EXPONENTS was also steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. In the early stages, AURORA STEED was steadied in an attempt to obtain cover from a wide barrier, however, raced wide and without cover for the majority of the race. Near the 850 Metres, SUPREME PLUS and AURORA STEED bumped as a result of both horses shifting ground. Approaching the 400 Metres, JUNZI improved into tight running inside the heels of HAPPY WINNER (Z Purton) which shifted out marginally. Then near the 350 Metres, JUNZI was steadied and shifted to the outside of HAPPY WINNER after being disappointed for running inside that horse which shifted back in. As the Stewards were not able to establish to the necessary degree whether HAPPY WINNER had shifted out sufficiently for JUNZI to be able to improve comfortably to the inside of that horse prior to HAPPY WINNER shifting back in, they afforded Z Purton the benefit of the doubt and took no further action other than to advise him to ensure that he makes every endeavour to prevent his mounts from shifting ground in similar circumstances. Rounding the Home Turn, FLYING MONKEY got its head on the side and lay out. FLYING MONKEY then lay out under pressure in the Straight. In the early part of the Straight, KWAI CHUNG ELITE raced tight outside SUPREME PLUS. Over the concluding stages, FLYING MONKEY, which continued to lay out, was awkwardly placed inside the heels of FOX CHEUNGER which shifted in under pressure. A veterinary inspection of JUNZI immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SUPREME PLUS and FOX CHEUNGER were sent for sampling.

WE THE SOUTH reared as the start was effected, shifted in and bumped DR EQ, causing both horses to become unbalanced and lose ground. SEVENTH SEA and UNIVERSAL RECORD were crowded for room on jumping between BEAUT BEAUT which shifted out and ARDENODE which was taken in by FORZA ANGEL. UNIVERSAL RECORD and BEAUT BEAUT then bumped near the 950 Metres as BEAUT BEAUT continued to shift out and ARDENODE was taken in by FORZA ANGEL which was racing tight inside WINNER’S HEART. Near the 900 Metres, WE THE SOUTH was crowded for room between DR EQ which got its head on the side and shifted out and NOBLE BIRTH which shifted in. After this, NOBLE BIRTH raced greenly and hung in near the 850 Metres, resulting in WE THE SOUTH being crowded for room and DR EQ, which was racing to the inside of WE THE SOUTH, being hampered. NOBLE BIRTH was then directed out to relieve the tightening to WE THE SOUTH and shifted out towards EXCELLENT CHARIOT which at this stage was commencing to receive crowding from WINNER’S HEART which, after initially being directed in by NEXTMODEL (Z Purton) passing the 850 Metres, then got its head on the side and shifted in of its own accord. After being directed out towards EXCELLENT CHARIOT, NOBLE BIRTH then shifted in abruptly away from that horse near the 800 Metres, resulting in WE THE SOUTH and DR EQ being checked. As the Stewards were satisfied that the racing manners of NOBLE BIRTH had largely caused the crowding to WE THE SOUTH and DR EQ, no further action was taken other than Z Purton was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in passing the 850 Metres when not clear of WINNER’S HEART, resulting in that horse being initially directed in. Passing the 900 Metres, ARDENODE raced tight inside the heels of FORZA ANGEL which was eased away from the heels of WINNER’S HEART which shifted in marginally. After the 600 Metres, ARDENODE was left racing wide and without cover. EXCELLENT CHARIOT made the turn near the 550 Metres awkwardly. DR EQ got its head on the side and lay out making the turn near the 550 Metres. Near the 500 Metres, BEAUT BEAUT was checked away from the heels of UNIVERSAL RECORD. DR EQ, which was following BEAUT BEAUT, was inconvenienced in consequence. Passing the 400 Metres, WE THE SOUTH got its head up when awkwardly placed behind NOBLE BIRTH and inside EXCELLENT CHARIOT. At the 300 Metres, BEAUT BEAUT was steadied away from the heels of WE THE SOUTH. After the 100 Metres, EXCELLENT CHARIOT was shifted to the inside of FORZA ANGEL and then raced tight inside that horse when improving into tight running between FORZA ANGEL and NOBLE BIRTH. WE THE SOUTH, NEXTMODEL and ARDENODE were sent for sampling.

EVERYONE’S ELITE was withdrawn on 7.7.20 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore and right hind) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter RIGHTEOUS MATE (V Borges). RIGHTEOUS MATE began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped MURRAY’S PARTNERS which then received contact from STAR WIN which shifted out. From the outside barrier, HAR HAR HEART was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. AUTHENTIC CHAMP was also steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. In the early stages, from a wide barrier, LASTING FRIENDSHIP was shifted across behind runners, however, travelled wide and without cover throughout the race. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, KING’S MAN got its head up when awkwardly placed behind STAR WIN. BLOOMING SPIRIT lost its left hind plate in the middle stages. Approaching the 800 Metres, DIONYSUS COLLIN shifted out away from the heels of BLOOMING SPIRIT which commenced to travel keenly and was steadied away from the heels of THUNDER STOMP. In this incident, DIONYSUS COLLIN bumped MURRAY’S PARTNERS, resulting in that horse being forced wide and without cover for a short distance. DIONYSUS COLLIN then became unbalanced passing the 800 Metres after making contact with MURRAY’S PARTNERS. Near the 550 Metres, DIONYSUS COLLIN raced close to the heels of BLOOMING SPIRIT when racing tight inside MURRAY’S PARTNERS. Rounding the Home Turn, DIONYSUS COLLIN was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ANONYMA. Over the concluding stages, TOTAL POWER raced tight outside MURRAY’S PARTNERS and close to the finishing line was shifted out away from that horse. After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that RIGHTEOUS MATE was lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, RIGHTEOUS MATE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of KING’S MAN and AUTHENTIC CHAMP immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. DIONYSUS COLLIN, MURRAY’S PARTNERS and TOTAL POWER were sent for sampling.

SEVEN HEAVENS was crowded for room on jumping between WON BALL and JUST NOT LISTENING, both of which shifted ground. This resulted in SEVEN HEAVENS losing ground and WON BALL and JUST NOT LISTENING becoming unbalanced. After this, from wide barriers, WON BALL and SEVEN HEAVENS were steadied and shifted across behind runners. In the early stages, VICTORY POWER was steadied to obtain cover. Making the turn near the 1000 Metres, TOM’S STYLE raced tight inside TELECOM PUMA which got its head on the side and lay in. MASTER ALBERT lay out making the turn after the 1000 Metres, resulting in SUNSET WATCH being inconvenienced. JUST NOT LISTENING continued to lay out rounding the Home Turn and after the 300 Metres shifted out abruptly away from VICTORY POWER which was shifted out to obtain a run. VICTORY POWER then continued to shift to the outside of SUNSET WATCH approaching the 200 Metres to obtain clear running. A veterinary inspection of CALIFORNIA GUNGHO, MASTER ALBERT and TOM’S STYLE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. BEAUTY SPARK, WIND N GRASS and LITTLE BIRD were sent for sampling.

Trainer T P Yung was fined the sum of $5,000 for incorrectly declaring B Shinn as the rider of DIAMOND BRILLIANT in this race when Z Purton had been booked to ride the horse. After being loaded into the barriers, ETERNAL HARVEST reared abruptly, resulting in its rider, C Y Ho, being dislodged. In this incident, ETERNAL HARVEST struck its head on the barrier structure. Acting on veterinary advice that ETERNAL HARVEST was not suitable to race, that horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Following the withdrawal of ETERNAL HARVEST, the Stewards ordered the field to be unloaded and the start of the race to be delayed. Before being allowed to race again, ETERNAL HARVEST will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, C Y Ho was examined by the Chief Medical Officer and passed fit to fulfil his remaining race riding engagement. COBY OPPA began only fairly and then was steadied away from the heels of EXPLOSIVE WITNESS which was taken in by DIAMOND BRILLIANT. Shortly after the start ORION PATCH which, after initially being taken out by GRATEFUL HEART which got its head on the side, then shifted out and away from that horse. Near the 850 Metres, BE READY was steadied away from the heels of CALIFORNIA ARCHER which got its head on the side and lay in away from G UNIT. Passing the 800 Metres, CANTSTOPTHEFEELING shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of GRATEFUL HEART. Passing the 650 Metres, CANTSTOPTHEFEELING was steadied away from the heels of GRATEFUL HEART which shifted out. Making the turn near the 550 Metres, EXPLOSIVE WITNESS raced tight outside AEROZOOM which lay out. Close to the finishing line, AEROZOOM became unbalanced in its action. When questioned regarding his riding of GRATEFUL HEART, M F Poon stated that he was instructed to either obtain the lead or to sit outside the lead on GRATEFUL HEART if possible. He said he rode his mount positively for some distance in the early stages, however, GRATEFUL HEART did not show sufficient speed to be able to be as prominent as instructed and approaching the 600 Metres was left racing three wide and without cover. He said making the turn near the 550 Metres GRATEFUL HEART got its head on the side and hung out which resulted in the horse shifting wide. He said he placed pressure on the inside rein of GRATEFUL HEART in an endeavour to assist it to turn better and he was reluctant to take stronger action as he was of the view that GRATEFUL HEART would hang out worse were he to be more forceful. He said GRATEFUL HEART continued to hang out rounding the Home Turn and during this stage the horse’s action deteriorated. He said after balancing up GRATEFUL HEART in the early part of the Straight, the horse’s action did not improve and as he had concerns regarding how GRATEFUL HEART felt, he elected to ease the horse down over the final 250 Metres. He added on return to the unsaddling area GRATEFUL HEART remained uncomfortable in its action and he reported this and the fact that the horse had hung out to the trainer. A veterinary inspection of GRATEFUL HEART immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. M F Poon was advised that his explanation would be reported, however, in the opinion of the Stewards, he should have made a more concerted effort rounding the turn to prevent his mount from shifting out. Having regard to Jockey Poon’s explanation as well as the previous racing history of GRATEFUL HEART, the Stewards ruled that the horse must undergo a series of consecutive barrier trials around a bend and be subjected to an official veterinary examination prior to being permitted to race again. A veterinary inspection of AEROZOOM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. DIAMOND BRILLIANT, EXPLOSIVE WITNESS and CALIFORNIA ARCHER were sent for sampling. <9/7/2020 Additional Veterinary Report>The Veterinary Surgeon reported that EXPLOSIVE WITNESS was lame in its left front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, EXPLOSIVE WITNESS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. AEROZOOM, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. AEROZOOM was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D J Whyte this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, AEROZOOM will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported that BE READY was lame in its right front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, BE READY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

As the start was effected, TOYCOON became fractious and lifted its front feet off the ground, resulting in the horse losing a considerable amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, TOYCOON will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial. Shortly after the start, C Y Ho (TOYCOON) adjusted his left foot in the stirrup iron. TASHIDELEK shifted in at the start and bumped WEALTHY EMPLOYEE which began awkwardly. WEALTHY EMPLOYEE was then crowded for room between TASHIDELEK and TOP SCORE which shifted out. LIGHTNING STEED began only fairly and then despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to muster speed. From the outside barriers, OWNERS’ STAR and FUN LEGEND were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 500 Metres, TASHIDELEK was awkwardly placed close to the heels of HEAVENLY THOUGHT after commencing to shift to the outside of that horse when GOLDEN SPECTRUM improved quickly around TASHIDELEK. Near the 450 Metres, LIGHTNING STEED was checked away from the heels of TASHIDELEK when attempting to improve into tight running between that horse and TOYCOON. BRAVE KING was held up for clear running approaching and passing the 250 Metres and when improving into tight running between TOP SCORE and HEAVENLY THOUGHT bumped the hindquarters of TOP SCORE approaching the 200 Metres. Passing the 100 Metres, the whip of Apprentice K H Chan (HEAVENLY THOUGHT) was knocked from his grasp by the whip of A Hamelin (BRAVE KING). After the race, H T Mo reported that, despite riding OWNERS’ STAR along throughout the middle stages, the horse was reluctant to improve its position and then did not finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of OWNERS’ STAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. GOLDEN SPECTRUM and LIGHTNING STEED were sent for sampling. <9/7/2020 Additional Veterinary Report>The Veterinary Surgeon reported that FUN LEGEND was lame in its right front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, FUN LEGEND will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
