NOTTHESILLYONE (J383): On jumping was crowded between SOLAR UP and URBAN TRIUMPH which shifted out. After the event, L Hewitson stated that despite being crowded at the start the instructions were to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages from a wide barrier. SPICY SO SMART (G203): L Ferraris (ACE TALENT) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 100 Metres he permitted his mount to shift out when not clear of SPICY SO SMART, resulting in SPICY SO SMART losing its rightful running and having to be steadied to avoid ACE TALENT. L Ferraris was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 30 April 2025 at Happy Valley. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record. SOLAR UP (J134): On jumping was bumped and became unbalanced when positioned tight to the inside of ACE TALENT. CAMP FIRE (J259): No report. HAPPY TANGO (D075): Shortly after the start shifted out and was bumped. MODEST GENTLEMAN (G352): Near the 100 Metres C L Chau dropped his whip. RAGNARR (H297): Sent for sampling post-race. URBAN TRIUMPH (H200): Shifted out at the start and was bumped. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, URBAN TRIUMPH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PATCH OF WATCH (H476): In the early stages got its head up and raced ungenerously when being shifted in to obtain cover behind DAY DAY VICTORY. PATCH OF WATCH then continued to race ungenerously in the middle stages. DAY DAY VICTORY (J423): Was fractious whilst being transported to the course. Was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. For some distance shortly after the start made contact with DIAMOND SOARS. Sent for sampling post-race. ACE TALENT (H046): L Ferraris pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 100 Metres (see SPICY SO SMART). DIAMOND SOARS (G201): Jumped only fairly and for some distance shortly after the start raced tight between DAY DAY VICTORY and HAPPY TANGO which shifted out slightly. After the event, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that the instructions were to lead but after being crowded at the start DIAMOND SOARS settled further back than what had been intended. MIDORI GIANT (K095): At declaration time L Hewitson was erroneously declared as the rider of MIDORI GIANT. The Stewards acceded to a request by Trainer M Newnham soon after declarations to replace Jockey Hewitson with Jockey H Bowman as Jockey Bowman had been engaged to ride the horse. For this error, Mr Newnham was fined the sum of $5,000. Bumped on jumping. M Chadwick (PEGASUS GENERAL) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 750 Metres he allowed his mount to shift out, resulting in MIDORI GIANT having to be checked to avoid PEGASUS GENERAL. M Chadwick was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Sunday, 4 May 2025 at Sha Tin. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his excellent race riding record. After the event, H Bowman stated that after striking interference near the 750 Metres his mount did not run on in the Home Straight and, in his opinion, may not have run out the 2200 Metres of tonight’s event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SERANGOON (H296): No report. CAPITAL LEGEND (G333): Raced wide and without cover until the 900 Metres where it commenced a forward move and was able to obtain the lead near the 700 Metres. FLOOF (H432): Near the 350 Metres blundered. Noted to have sustained a wound to the right front fetlock. ROMANTIC FANTASY (H168): Approaching the 500 Metres raced tight between FLOOF and MIDORI GIANT which lay in and away from MANAGEMENT FOLKS. ROSEWOOD FLEETFOOT (J524): When questioned, Z Purton stated that from a wide barrier his instructions were to take up a forward position, similar to the manner in which his mount raced at its most recent start. He said in the early and middle stages ROSEWOOD FLEETFOOT raced keenly and refused to settle. He added when CAPITAL LEGEND made a forward move in the Back Straight his mount came under pressure and did not finish the race off thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. ARTHUR'S KINGDOM (E194): Near the 1700 Metres was briefly crowded by ROSEWOOD FLEETFOOT which shifted in when over-racing. Leaving the 600 Metres lay in and made contact with the running rail. After the event, Y L Chung stated that his mount was disadvantaged by being pressured in the middle stages when CAPITAL LEGEND made a forward move and as a result ARTHUR’S KINGDOM did not finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. HAKKA RADIANCE (J105): Bumped on jumping. In the early stages raced keenly when being steadied to obtain cover. PEGASUS GENERAL (G189): M Chadwick pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 750 Metres (see MIDORI GIANT). MANAGEMENT FOLKS (E496): Jumped only fairly. Sent for sampling post-race. PERFECT PAIRING (J331): Near the 500 Metres was steadied to avoid FLOOF. Making the Home Turn and in the early part of the Home Straight was held up for clear running behind FLOOF. Sent for sampling post-race.

SURE JOYFUL (G125): After the event, M Chadwick confirmed that the instructions were to take up a forward position. He said after obtaining a position with cover behind the leaders SURE JOYFUL came under pressure along the Back Straight and finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. THESIS (H111): Approaching the 1500 Metres was steadied to avoid AMAZING AWARD when being shifted behind that runner. After the event, Y L Chung stated that his mount settled back in the field and found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight. LUCKY SAM GOR (K114): No report. OWNERS' PRAISE (H047): Jumped only fairly. Sent for sampling post-race. ICONICAL (J504): Sent for sampling post-race. FOREMOST TEDDY (J058): No report. SMILING EMPEROR (J371): After the event, L Hewitson stated that the intention was to hold a handy position. He said SMILING EMPEROR jumped only fairly and as a result settled further back in the field than intended. He said SMILING EMPEROR raced too keenly throughout the early and middle stages and after being crowded on the Home Turn when racing tight between THESIS and STORMI (C L Chau) which shifted out, his mount was unable to finish the race off thereafter. C L Chau was advised to exercise more care. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

WINGS OF WAR (H162): After the event, H Bowman stated that from an inside barrier when his mount commenced well he was able to take up a forward position without being pressured to do so. Sent for sampling post-race. ROMANTIC SON (J537): After the event, H Bentley stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and as a result was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. KA YING VICTORY (H287): Jumped awkwardly and shortly after the start bumped with POWER KOEPP and became unbalanced. After the event, M F Poon stated that his mount jumped awkwardly and then did not travel well during the race. He added, in his opinion, KA YING VICTORY may have been feeling the effects of the manner in which it jumped and he had concerns with its action. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, KA YING VICTORY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. POWER KOEPP (E301): On jumping was bumped and became unbalanced. Approaching the 200 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving to the inside of GIANT LEAP and as a result made contact with DENFIELD when GIANT LEAP shifted in under pressure. Sent for sampling post-race. DENFIELD (G471): Near the 200 Metres was bumped and taken in by POWER KOEPP. WARRIORS DREAM (K255): Jumped awkwardly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Passing the 350 Metres was checked to avoid KA YING VICTORY and on straightening was shifted to that runner’s inside to secure clear running. GIANT LEAP (J143): Sent for sampling post-race. SWEET BRIAR (H044): No report. WRITTEN CASA (J305): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

MIGHTY COMMANDER (J360): Raced keenly in the lead in the early stages. After the event, H Bowman stated he was given the option of going forward and leading if his mount commenced well. He said when MIGHTY COMMANDER jumped well he elected to continue forward and lead the event as instructed. Trainer C Fownes confirmed the instructions issued to Jockey Bowman and stated that MIGHTY COMMANDER had performed well when ridden in a forward position when it raced in Australia. FOREVER GLORIOUS (G229): Near the 1500 Metres shifted in and away from MIGHTY COMMANDER when being steadied to avoid that runner’s heels. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SUNDAY'S SERENADE (J231): On jumping was steadied when crowded between ACCOLADE START and ESCAPE ROUTE, both of which shifted ground. Sent for sampling post-race. CELESTIAL HARMONY (K059): After the event, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that with blinkers being applied for the first time he was asked to ride his mount forward from the outside barrier. Near the 1300 Metres was eased when racing in restricted room to the inside of SOARING BRONCO which shifted in and away from ATOMIC BEAUTY. ESCAPE ROUTE (E273): Bumped at the start. QINGYUAN STAR (J350): Near the 1500 Metres MIGHTY COMMANDER (H Bowman) shifted in when not clear of FOREVER GLORIOUS, resulting in FOREVER GLORIOUS shifting in and away from MIGHTY COMMANDER, crowding the running of DRAGON STAR and QINGYUAN STAR. H Bowman was reprimanded. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. ACCOLADE START (H331): Bumped on jumping and became unbalanced. From a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages. ATOMIC BEAUTY (H066): Jumped only fairly. Near the 600 Metres was taken wider when SOARING BRONCO shifted to the outside of QINGYUAN STAR. As a result, ATOMIC BEAUTY was obliged to race wide and without cover thereafter. Near the 50 Metres was eased when tightened between DRAGON STAR and SUNDAY’S SERENADE, both of which shifted ground slightly. SILVER KING (H420): No report.

CRIMSON FLASH (K173): Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start was crowded between CHATEAUNEUF and CALIFORNIA DEEPLY which shifted out. Over the concluding stages lay in, resulting in its rider A Atzeni having to stop riding and straighten his mount. A Atzeni was issued with a warning for using his whip in a forehand manner forward of the saddle. Sent for sampling post-race. KING MILES (J158): After the event, L Hewitson stated that from his wide barrier he was asked to take up an on-pace position as last start the horse settled back in the field and had difficulty securing clear running in the Home Straight. Trainer K W Lui confirmed the instructions issued. Sent for sampling post-race. CALIFORNIA DEEPLY (G451): Shifted out at the start and was bumped. UP WITH CHARM (K139): Jumped only fairly. After the event, M L Yeung reported that his mount failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and when not in a competitive position he eased it down from the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of UP WITH CHARM was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, UP WITH CHARM will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SHINYU KOKOROE (K263): Was a late withdrawal acting on veterinary advice after becoming fractious and sustaining multiple wounds whilst being transported to the course. Before being allowed to race again, SHINYU KOKOROE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

FATAL BLOW (J484): Briefly held up for clear running near the 250 Metres when obtaining a narrow run between EVERSTAR and LOVING VIBES. Sent for sampling post-race. KNOW AT HEART (K108): Jumped only fairly. Lay out making the first turn and approaching the 900 Metres got its head up when racing to the inside of LOVING VIBES. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. BUNTA BABY (J465): Approaching the 1000 Metres, when being steadied to obtain cover behind SOLAR RIVER, commenced to race keenly, got its head up and became unbalanced. EVERSTAR (K264): Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. CASA RUBICK (K299): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. MY DAY MY WAY (J519): Bumped shortly after the start. COSMO LIGHT (J379): No report. GLORY B (H373): Jumped awkwardly. Sent for sampling post-race. GOKO WIN (H069): From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. OUR LUCKY GLORY (G292): Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by NOBLE GO which shifted out. Near the 100 Metres was disappointed for clear running between KING LOTUS and E UNIVERSE and after being shifted to the inside of E UNIVERSE near the 50 Metres could not be fully ridden out to the finish of the event when it was positioned tight to the inside of E UNIVERSE. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. NEVER TOO SOON (E434): From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Leaving the 200 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between WORLD HERO and GREAT SPIRIT. NEVER TOO SOON was then shifted to the inside of WORLD HERO and MY FLYING ANGEL where it obtained a narrow run to the inside of MY FLYING ANGEL but then raced tight between MY FLYING ANGEL and KING LOTUS for the remainder of the event. GREAT SPIRIT (J155): Jumped only fairly and shortly afterwards was steadied when crowded by MEGA BONUS which shifted in and away from LUCKY PLANET. LUCKY PLANET (H235): Sent for sampling post-race. MEGA BONUS (E184): Shortly after the start was hampered when momentarily crowded by LUCKY PLANET. Sent for sampling post-race. KING LOTUS (K186): Over the final 100 Metres raced tight between NEVER TOO SOON and E UNIVERSE and as a result could not be ridden out to the finish of the event. MAJESTIC DELIGHT (K189): On jumping was bumped by WORLD HERO and became unbalanced. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. E UNIVERSE (H151): Near the 400 Metres became unbalanced when it shifted in towards the running rail. NOBLE GO (K053): After being crossed by E UNIVERSE near the 1000 Metres commenced to race keenly and got its head up when being steadied away from E UNIVERSE. NOBLE GO then continued to race keenly in the middle stages. MY FLYING ANGEL (J174): On jumping was bumped by OUR LUCKY GLORY when racing tight to the inside of E UNIVERSE. After the event, L Ferraris stated that from an inside barrier he was instructed to hold an on-pace position to take advantage of his favourable barrier draw. LOVERO (H451): After the event, Y L Chung stated that he could offer no explanation for his mount’s failure to finish the race off strongly in the Home Straight. LEAN HERO (G402): After the event, K C Leung stated that from a wide barrier he was requested to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages. He added that after settling back in the field LEAN HERO was unable to make up ground when placed under pressure in the Home Straight. SMART TRIO (J538): After the event, M F Poon stated that with his mount stepping up in distance and drawn well, he was asked to hold an on-pace position, similar to the manner in which the horse barrier trialed on 8 April 2025. He said when SMART TRIO commenced well and showed good pace in the early stages he was able to lead without being pressured to do so. A AMERIC TE SPECSO (H037): Slow to begin.
